You’d be surprised how many Calor cylinders there are at scrap yards. I was.

Not sure why people expect a refund on their cylinder, they are basically paying a hire change .I can understand that they will be short on cylinders as many many homes I work at have them, unused in their gardens. But if calor gave the money back, or at least a decent amount the cylinders would be returned. Supermarkets worked this out a long time ago.
I didn't get a response to my offer from the OP so I will message you.If the original poster does not want your spare, I’m happy to buy it from you.
You don't need paperwork as they cannot replace like for like and Calorlite is being withdrawn by Calor so any supplier should exchange for normal 6kg.I exchanged mine last month with out any problem at a builders merchants. If you have problems call Calor direct.Exchanging a 6kg lite for a normal 6kg can be done without any paperwork
I don’t know anything about refillable bottles. What size are they and how does it work? Also what is the cost?

Don't think their interested as they need to be recycled/disposed ofThey did offer a cash back for old cylinders some time ago, £7 seems to come to mind.
However i think you needed to take them into main depots and mine was in the middle of Birmingham so just not viable.
If they offered it via dealers who did the exchange bottles i am sure they would get a lot back
Agree. Many gas place’s didn’t want to give you the £7, and when you have paid £49.99 for the cylinder on top of the gas which here is £35, is just a ridiculous rip off. They did offer a cash back for old cylinders some time ago, £7 seems to come to mind.

We paid £70 for ours, £40 of that was a cylinder surcharge....per cylinder as we didn't have any to swapAgree. Many gas place’s didn’t want to give you the £7, and when you have paid £49.99 for the cylinder on top of the gas which here is £35, is just a ridiculous rip off.
And who's going to cut them in halfSome scrap yards are now insisting that any "pressure vessels" that you take in (lpg bottles, fire extinguishers etc) have to be cut in half before they'll accept them, they're not happy just having the valves removed.
