Wow. On the strength of that then, we won’t be doing outer hebs this year, as we are 9.5m with a toad out back + 2 adults. Got to be £700 or more surely Was looking forward to going but, not that much.

We did the Outer Hebrides a few years ago using the Hopscotch ticket, just phoned to book the next ferry and never had to wait more than a couple of days. Hardly saw another van. Given the current popularity, and the CalMac fiasco I doubt we'll be back.

Size of the van shouldn’t be a problem, we have done a lot of the highlands in a Burstner 747 and had our first tour up there in our new van this year..no problems thus far. Always check routes thoroughly using street view etc.
