Well I got Autogas 2000 to fit Gaslow bottles including a bbq point for under the awning. Was looking for a gas bbq but seen the cadac 2 cook and thought that might be a better idea, then saw the campinggaz stove with grill and now don’t know what to get! Anyone with experience of either?

We have a Cadac, not sure which one it is though. It comes with two rings and two hot plates that can be used instead of the rings. It is superb, our only criticism is that the carrying case or bags is rubbish and broke quickly. When we contacted Cadac, they replied they would be happy to sell us another!

Having bought one cadac product, I would not buy another. The quality is poor for the extortionate price.

we've got one (cadac 2 cook) and we use it whilst we are away, its even easier to clean now i have cut some bbq mats to fit it as it used to be a real pain to clean it but now its just a case of wiping down the mats.

Also i 3d printed some feet for it so i can level it whilst on a table as that always used to annoy as well :) but now i can level each feet individually (or thats the plan as only made them since we came back from our last holiday in Jan and not tested them yet).

We also have a bigger cadac just with a large pan on it which we use as well as this is super easy to clean as well with the bbq mats, the legs come off of it and then it packs away quite reasonably.

Plenty of other makes available as well which will do just as well.

We have the Cadac 2 cook and it’s fine for us. Easy to clean, and not as cumbersome as the Cadac safari chef we had before. The carry case is crap though.

We have the Campinggaz one and it's absolutely fine for us. Not sure if they bigger sizes but ample for what we need....May not necessarily feed a party of 10 but is fab for storing and cooks plenty of treats up

Love our Cadac Cook2Cook Pro.
Have had ours for about 4 years now and see no reason to change as it is a very versatile bit of kit and the carry bag is still as new. ;)

Started using BBQ mats on it from day one, so no trying to get stuck on food off the grille plates, just a wipe over and you're done. (y)
I bought it on a roll from Amazon and cut it with scissors to the shape of the grill plates.

We have a Cadac 2 cook, bag is a bit rubbish, handle broke almost straightaway and zip is threatening it is all just poor stitching and materials.

The burners work ok but if a wind appears it looses heat quickly, flame controls barely works high or low, lid sort of acts a wind break but has nothing at the sides finally the lid will not lay flat this means there is a distinct limit on the pan size you can use.

If I was buying again now, I would look for something else, camping gaz maybe

I saw the Cadac 2 Cook 3 Pro at the Newbury show a couple of weeks ago, that looked really good compared to my Cadac 2 Cook 2 Pro as it has handles for the griddle plates that also detach.

Is it better to go for a Cadac 2 cook 3 or a any make camping stove with a grill and a ridge monkey griddle/plain pan?
Any opinions????

Would Foil work as well as bbq mats?

We've got a Campingaz party grill 400 on a Prime deal. It works well, is reasonably compact and not too hard to clean. My brother and his wife have 3 kids and they tent camp for weeks at a time using the 600 and get some fantastic meals out of it.

We have a Cadac 2 Cook 2 and works well for us. Supplementing it with a Cobb charcoal this year for the authentic BBQ taste. Will be interesting to see what we use most.

I cook Yvette's salmon rapped in foil on the Cadac and more often than not the salmon sticks to the foil.

Another vote for the BBQ mats, also put one in the base of the Remoska when I bake a cake as it protects the non-stick from my cake tin.
I use one of these-

Also have a Safari Chef, doesn’t get used much tho.

Yes, love ours too. We’re on our second carry case, CADAC replaced the original without drama but this one may not last much longer either! I reckon you could fix a new one outside the shell of the old one and have a much more robust case.

Did have a Camping gaz double burner. Good heat output through the MH gas point. But a real pig of a thing to keep clean. The grill was next to useless and no windbreak either. Swapped it for the (now rare) Hi Gear double burner. Easy to keep clean, but the heat output isn't as good. Might be up on classifieds soon :frowny:

BBQ-wise, I can completely and unreservedly recommend the Weber Q1000 (fit your own thermometer) or Q1200 (with own thermometer). Weber sell an oven rack and special foil trays to enable the Weber to be used as an oven. Pretty good one too. You can also get a non-branded flat griddle plate off Amazon for eggs in the morning.

I'm looking at this:

Broken Link Removed

the 400 connects to a bottle or BBQ outlet on the van and the 400CV has a screw on disposable bottle, much cheaper than the Cadac

I have an external gas point I'd like to use, but don't see the point in having a BBQ cooker that is not a BBQ, just a griddle that you could use indoors. I certainly would not pay the cost of a Webber or a Cadac. Camping Gaz maybe, but even that's overpriced. Ah, well!
