C.B. Radio

The 'new' CEPT frequencies are indeed the same as the old A.M. ones, but of course now using FM ( 26.695 to 27.405 ) and still stick to the very weird spacing around chnl 23 to 25

The first legal frequencies in the UK ( rigs badged 27/81 with a linear channel range of 27.60125 to 27.99125 ) should not be used out side the UK as they are illegal everywhere else !

Thank you, I'll pop round to the parents' place this weekend and see what I can find of my old gear then :)

One of the old original AM sets that had FM s well will do nicely :-)

What sort of antenna is that Steve ?
Does it need a ground plane ?
Or is the body of your van ally ?
The body is alloy, got the swr @ 1.3 chan. 20. the twig is a mini stinger. All the gear came from a firm called nervada (portsmouth i think) i use to have lots of stuff years ago but all gone now so will have to go with advise from others.

Hi.
You have had me rooting around in.."Boxes that contain stuff never to be thrown away". Two old CB's of mine.1. Radiomobile CB201 and a Maxcom-20E (1990).Both have..CB 27/81 on them, are they still any good? If i dig deeper,i am sure i have enough mounts to fix it somewhere on my, "Mini Magnum" (Renault Master PVC LOL...... Commin at'yer! Kumbik !)..
First question, can i get on the "Convoy with these ?" Second question, what twig do i need to get a copy from the UK, here in Portugal. We are down,we are gone...
