What club? More a trading company, I booked intotheir Oxford site, paid my deposit and a week later they cancelled my booking due to flooding on the site. They kept my deposit because they claimed that I didn't show! When it came to membership renewal,they couldn't or wouldn't use my 'lost' deposit towards my fees-I told them to stuff the club!
I do believe that some sanction is needed for people who book and don't turn up,but to lie about my deposit is more a practice akin to a dodgy dealer.

Well, I spoke to the manager Tony and he thinks you might be confused about which site you were booked into. He says that they have never cancelled bookings due to flooding as long as he has been there and, if they had, they would have automatically refunded any payments made.
