Buying a motorhome-sized lock up

I'd measure the internal length. You need some space at either end of the van and, one day, you might want to have a longer one.
Consider CCTV or, at least, some stickers for security.
Forget electronic rat deterrents. I've used them and they did no good. Rat traps are the best solution. Plan to check them routinely.
Keeping a van under cover will mean much less cleaning.

The internal length is 7.5m, so I have very little to spare at either end. Lock ups of this size are as rare as rocking horse do do, so it's a tight fit or park it 9 miles away at the storage place.

I'm looking at it as an investment, with the added bonus that I can get a 7m motorhome in there. Just.

If you do go ahead and buy and the question of where your MH is parked you could truthfully say 'On my property', which is open for them to enquire further.

Surely the assumption would be that the address you provide as your home address is where it's kept if you say on my property. Not worth the risk for me.

Locked garage, secure door privately owned, alarm, security camera. I'll ask a couple of insurers. They might be fine with it.

My insurance went down when I moved from a rural CASSOA site to my drive way and it wasn;t as if the site had a history of problems.

Pablotti , doesn’t sound bad to me , I’d buy it , you will always get your money back with interest , it’s just an investment, better than money in the bank
I have just finished building a new shed for my motorhome , next to my new house I’m going to build , all in when finished it will have cost more than the MoHo but worth every penny

Nice one 👍

I’ve got digger envy as well.
Been looking for one but way above my budget since they shot up in price 🙄

If I had the money I’d buy it 👍

Yes I said immediately on the first reply post it could be an issue, hope you can sort it out though.

Ask Comfort more questions.

My storage site, although not Cassoa, meets all Cassoa levels of security (Gates, CCTV, fences etc.)
Therefore they send in a 3 page list of security related questions and then covered the location.

I think that as long as your arch is not in a very dodgy area, and you advise them of the levels of security (alarms, PIR's, CCTV, door locks, etc. then they may relent.
