Buy Your Third Motorhome First

No, they are only available in Germany.

2nd hand on mobile.de

4 berth, 4 belted seats (5 as a retrofit). On a SWB Sprinter !.

They did the same model under a different brand but on a VW chassis. Something like Swarmobile.

I want a RWD. You can still specify RWD in Germany, not in the UK. So I suspect it would have to be LHD. Which is good for me
Quite high though at 3.1 metres that’s the same height as our Concorde, could you and your good lady manage to get into the bed ok? Although I see the rear floor is raised which will make it easier.
Lovely conversion though the CS, I like the Rondo 5.91 metre.

We're on number 3. Went from a smaller coachbuilt to a big coach built then this one is an ever bigger old Hymer B774. Love it for lots of reasons but we imagine that the day will come when we downsize. Always wanted an old Hymer so jumped at the chance of this one and it doesn't disappoint for solid, well made and comfortable. She's a big lass (8.5 metres with the bikes on the back) and heavy so she's thirsty (25mpg). When you choose a van there are always pros and cons. It's all part of the fun.

Started looking 5 years before we purchased our van in 2020 (ordered before COVID).

Two years of series looking, visits to every show we could get to, loads of information sourced on here. Didn’t hire any though.

First time lucky maybe, a few comprises like maximum 6m long (parking at home) and budget…..but we think we’ve got it right for us. (y)

Very easily. Easier than our la Strada Nova M. Quite small and claustrophobic

Yup, just about to buy my third van, picking it up on 2nd July.

First one (Dethleffs 7014 Esprit) was a lovely MH except the auto gearbox went belly up after a year of ownership and following a very costly repair, I never trusted it again.

So part exchanged for a Benimar Mileo 201 which I thought would see me out as we were very happy with it. However, a new addition to the family two years ago (a cocker spaniel called Bracken) showed that on wet days when pitched up, a fixed double bed takes up too much room from a 5.95metre van with 2 humans and wet spaniel all fighting for a bit of space.

Now we are getting a Roller Team T590 so still just under 6 metres in length, but the bed raises up out of the way during daytime, giving more floor space, plus a roomier toilet and separate shower room, which the wet dog will be banished to if she does not behave!

If this one does not work out well, then tough, I ain't buying another :ROFLMAO:

We are on our third and it's a keeper.
Our first one was bought off of eBay for £2k as that was all we could go to at the time. It was far from perfect but it did us for a number of years and we have happy memories of times spent in the van.
Number two was a Ducato 2.8 JTD Maxi PVC. I re-fitted the interior which was tired and a bit rough when we bought it. We only kept that one for a couple of seasons as it was just a bit too cramped for us.
We now had a good idea of what we wanted in a motorhome and knew that it did not exist, but our present MH ticks the must-haves that we wanted in a van.

Only on my second. First one was 6M coach built with the same layout as the Carthago, albeit with a rear loading, half height garage. My Compactline just had those few extra inches of space and a bigger garage. I always said that I would only swap my first van for the one I have now, so it could be said I got it right first time. Any van, unless you have no constraints, may well involve a degree of compromise. Space on the drive, licence restrictions, funds available - all can affect your actual choice of "the one".

On our third now, and we were told we'd need 3 till we were happy. First was an Elddis bought 2nd hand because we'd had caravans before and the layout was similar - big mistake, we only slept in the bubble once and never again after husband hit the roof every time he turned over! Next a new Chausson with a fixed bed which was great. The kitchen area was rubbish and it wasn't comfortable to relax in so we didn't keep it long. So our best buy was the Wildax Constellation which met 99% of our wish list for a 6m vehicle and the one we will keep, having had it now for 11 years.

Very interesting design, but that bed! :( Have you looked at RP?
You can’t buy any RP second hand that’s the difference. They are far too expensive in my view brand new, once they got established the prices rocketed.

I have lost count of how many Ive had over the years. A lot more than three.
Needs change and our last mh was great for us till the need to go to the loo in the night became important. Now on a slightly smaller one with single beds which suits us for now. Also its only 3500kg which has become important now we have reached middle age at 70.

Too long

On our first. - 15months old. didn't hire any first or do too much research but were pretty sure what we wanted. 15 months later and 11000 miles of travelling I can't think of anything wrong about our choice.

We are on out 15th, over the last 35 years or so. The last 4 fortunate to have been to buy new. Our current one is an A class Burstner and the most expensive (ouch!!) and the least impressive. Now just over 2 and a half years old and wonder just what is going to break of fail next. This is the first non English make and so disappointed.
