Burstner Aviano 2010 ( new to me van ) wanted to check the spare wheel, on a carrier underneath the van ( midships) found the mechanism and a hole in the side skirt to insert a winding handle but can’t find the handle or Jack is it hiding somewhere?

Or in rear bed locker, black plastic case, some times bolted to rear inside wall. I would get the wheel down and cleanup the bolt/ mechanism as they are prone to seizing up. Or is it an alko carrier?
Pictures would help

Aye it’s dark o clock now, so will check under the passenger seat tomorrow for Jack and handle, and report back. 👍😁

Check drivers seat too, my my19 Burstner/Fiat had a slot for the tool box there.

So I’ve found the Jack and wheel brace kit unused under the passenger seat thanks to @ ontheroadagain. 👍😁
Still no wiser as to how to wind down the spare wheel as there seems to be no tool to do it!?

If it's a fiat there should be a five sided driver a bit like a straight Allen key. The wheel brace fits on the other end and it winds down on a chain.

Well the 5 sided Allen key won’t go through the hole in the body to reach the winder and it’s the wrong size😐😡

So I used a ratchet and got the spare wheel down but what a palaver to get it off! I couldn’t imagine doing it in the pishing rain on the side of a French/British/ Spanish motorway 😡

At least you've got it off though 😂

Don't think you're allowed to do it on a motorway in any country.

OH AND THE FECKIN SPARE IS 3608 VINTAGE!!!!! 😡😡😡😡😡
Which makes sense, given the age of the van?

You may need the extending attachment, which is an extra when you buy the spare wheel kit.

Or use a ratchet as suggested above.
