BSA 441shooting star

Yes, and full cafe racer set up, big tank , single seat, rear seats and clip ons, loved it, and drums front and rear
Like this?
Me on my mate John's B31 and him on an A10 chopper in the late 60s.

Sorry that is the one I remember, a pal of mine had one and I had the 650ss Norton with the featherbed frame and grey gun metal fuel tank, they were both , to me beautiful bikes !
What was the 'fantastic' smelling (hot) engine oil you used?
Think it was Castrol R?

Agreed very nice classic enjoy

Bought a new BSA C15 in 1966 HBA 106D. £210...........loved it.
I always thought the BSA stood for Bit Stuck Anywhere:unsure:

Well done nice looking machine, I will probably hear you starting it up, many years ago we used to fish (without a day ticket of course) the river Dee between Llandderfel and Cynwyd never got caught because the bailiff rode a Victor you could hear him coming for miles.
Then he swapped into a van which convinced us to join Bala Angling.

Update. I've bought a BSA 441 Victor. Great fun to ride and not a lot of vibration. With regards to the gearing, it's perfect for the road. View attachment 615128
I have not forgotten just not at home for a while but will chase him up on my return but that looks a peach 👍

I had a Velo MAC 350 in the late 70's, i got it cheap because it had been standing outside and it was seized, once the head was off and the bore soaked in plus gas a few whacks with heavy mallet and it freed off, i remember removing some light rust in the bore with a half round file wrapped in emery cloth, new rings and she was good, it was a very pleasant bike to ride and surprisingly vibration free for a single.

As a 13 year old lived not far from Paul Dunstall’s shop in Eltham often use to spend an hour or two there

Had a Shooting Star back in the day, least reliable bike I've ever had, mind you it was mainly down to the previous (one owner) or should I say bodger. Just running in a completely rebuilt Viper to go with my Venom, once again sorting years of bodges and neglect, goes with the with the territory with unrestored bikes. Love know how many on here have a modern bike to go with their old ones? Z1000SX Tourer here.

My father was a biker because it was the only transport they could afford in the forties. I have the tax disc from one of his BSA,s. He said it was the last of the tank change models.
At one time he had an Airial Squre Four Mk2. His last bike was an ex Manchester police Triumph he bought when he retired.
The only bikes I had anything to do with were the B40,s the army had. I had to test ride them after servicing. I only remember them being horrible to ride. They seemed rough and handled badly having knobbly tyres fitted. Getting back to the workshop alive was a challenge.

I’ve just found out that the new Gold Star demo bikes will be in dealer showrooms end of November, I’m putting my name down for a try out, if they go as well as they look I’m likely to be the owner of one😁.

Why did I think this was an air rifle thread…..🤔😎

After that road test I think the 550 RE single is still a better buy.
It's just pretending to be a Goldy and it's never going to come close.

Just wondering if anyone has a BSA 441shooting star forsale?
I'm interested in buying one. Have you got one, or know of someone selling one.
Please let me know.
Thanks in anticipation
Frank
