Britstops

Scarborough ccc site ok but nowhere near Scarborough a bus ride away.
and the bus is a good walk away unless your fit (or it was when I was there a few years ago?) Beadnell Bay is very popular but gets booked up quickly! Never been so having a look in June. :giggle:

Beadnell bay is lovely. We go every year in June. Two good pubs for food very near. A lovely walk to seahouses. Beautiful dog friendly beaches.

For me - I like a bit of certainty. Britstops facilitates this.
Yes I could use the other options, but it works for me
I like to know where I'm going, and what's on offer.
...and for £30 a year, the price isn't worth quibbling about.
Also, it indicates whether a larger van will fit and how many spaces there are available. For less than £30 it's good value if you are going to use it. I will be using three Britstops at Feb half term whilst visiting the NEC and taking Grandson to Harry Potter World. Maybe not for everybody but we use them all the time.

I’m a big fan of Britstops. I like the non pub stops most, there’s a great farm shop stop I’ve used multiple times. Also stopped at a Britstops which was a petting zoo, another which was a vineyard and another farm shop with an artisan bakery next door. A couple of stops a year and you’ve already covered the cost. I joined the two formal Clubs last year but I’ve still used Britstops more. For my kind of travel they work really well.

We've used Britstops and yes they are mostly pubs. We always felt obliged to eat in the pub, I know you don't have to but it seems rude not to. Anyway, we've pretty much stopped using them as the cost of two meals and drinks was becoming expensive for pretty average, if not dire, food. We would rather pay for a night on a site and get fish and chips for a change from cooking.

Lumpy , if you are travelling up the east coast from Norfolk, you could drop into Jasmin Camping for a night or two and visit our esteemed leader Jim

Based in Sutton on Sea and only a short walk to the lovely beach and promenade, it is a lovely site and you would likely meet some other Funsters whilst there too 😺
Sounds like a plan, I'll try to make it happen.

We use pubstops but don’t feel the need to subscribe to britstops. As Lenny HB has said , you’ll find lots of them already listed on Searchforsites. Best to ring ahead.

Ps our very own Keith here has a whole bunch on moon fruit pubstopovers, also a good resource.

Agree either SForS or just call the location .

Some folks like the book that britstops offer but if your more technically minded nowadays its.. IMO more cost effective to pay the SFS subscription. Also great to use for quickcodes if you have a Garmin Camper sat nav, saves you having to type in co ordinates.

This has reminded me that our membership is due. We have used there listings for a few years now .

I don’t think so.

Just that but if extra security if knowing yiu can stay rather than ‘begging’ to see if it would be OK.
I know lots of places will let you stay if you eat but this is just that much better as a solution and now I understand they have an app they have finally entered the digital world.
Used Britstops twice just last week

I stayed at Scarborough CCC last summer and found it an easy walk into town, I did it most days. There is a direct route down the road, a footpath route on the coast plus a part road part footpath route that brings you out by Sainsbury.
We have been going there at least once a year with the grandkids and I also go on my own, as said before nice walk to the beach, bus service good, it's my go to chill out place for a few days on my own close to home. just wish it was open all year.
