Britstops Sold

Mind you with the price of pub food and drink now it’s not a cheap stop over😳😳
Probably around £50+ for a meal and drinks for 2….
No compulsion to spend that.
Perfectly ok to just buy a couple of drinks, then eat in your van.
I think Harvest Hosts have a suggested minimum spend of $20 [£16]

Price of a pitch, then Tesco bill, then your time & effort cooking - unless you live off bread & water - I'd say pretty good value.

For me, I'd likely be going to a pub anyway - so it's VFM.

Britstops cheap as chips. I checked the other day and a motorway service station on the M6 was charging motorhomes £35 to park in a puddle of lazy lorry driver pish.

Yea but you do get a refrigerated truck parked next to you all night running it’s genny.

I'm the same and to make matters worse I've been charged twice. Awaiting their response.
A few years ago we got to March and my book hadn’t arrived but payment was made. I contacted Steve who assured me that it had been sent.
I spoke with my usual postie but he’d been on holiday. I spoke with the local post office and village shop; I asked all my neighbours but no joy. So Steve sent another one
The following year I had the same problem and the same solution was agreed.
From then on it has been sent under “plain brown envelope” and it has arrived on time. I wonder what will happen next year?

Gordon

Steve also sorted out a problem when I was charged twice and also difficulties with incorrect email addresses resulting in not getting monthly newsletters. Fingers crossed that this all continues to be the approach to customer service. 🤞

Been a member twice but never impressed,,won't bother again,,Stopped in Devon coming back from Plymouth ferry port ,pie and chips and a drink each £35 Inc parking but poor meal,,BUSBY.

Hi all,

Many thanks for kind words. I'm not going to re-hash the old discussion as to whether Brit Stops is "worth it" - you can read that discussion elsewhere in more than a few places, and of course I'm biased anyway! If you were wondering though, you can always check out the FB Brit Stops "USER" group which we don't run, for independent reviews.

We are however, very pleased that we were able to pass Brit Stops on to a company that understands the ideas behind our kind of stopover, and that has the wherewithal to take things to the next level. We're already seeing exciting things happen behind the scenes that we would never have been able to put in place (a very slick customer-service platform that will speed up our email responses greatly; Bobby-gg and Pappy will be pleased to hear I know - Tom and I are currently slogging through the emails, honest!)

As ceejaytee said, they also have great plans for our new app, and again, they can make the improvements that it would have not been possible for us to do.

Mandy and I will be around for the next six months to aid transition, and will be at the Harrogate and Peterborough shows if anyone wants to come over for a chat. Tom is staying on permanently as the UK General Manager, so continuity is there.

We're really looking forward to watching Brit Stops go from strength to strength. We're still gonna be out and about in our van too, so if you spot a Globecar Summit at a Brit Stop, do say hi!

Steve 😊

After doing the French Passion and seeing Britstops at one of the motorhome shows,12 years ago,we joined and enjoyed all the benefits, especially when travelling from Derbyshire to the ferry or Eurotunnel. We have just re-joined,and as we are now in our eighties, it will be mainly near to us but there are still loads to choose from 🤗🤗

Just a question and not a criticism at all ….. at £32 is it worth it for members ?

We signed up last year and got the book. Can't see the point in paying again this year as I don't imagine there will be a lot of additions. Not one of the places we used last year asked for proof that we had a current membership.

Do you get the newsletters? Because those include the in year changes - there seem to be quite a lot.

No, never seen a newsletter. Anyway, there were far more than I could use in one year so I don't really need more. We tend to spend most time in Europe and off grid.

I can add another reason for not joining Brit Stops. I was charged twice last year and this. I only noticed this year. I have had a devil of a job to convince Tom of this. Then he said he would refund this years, but not last. I was then charged again! This has since been reversed. I received only one book last year although charged twice. I am still £56 out of pocket. I will not be re joining after this year.
I did ask him to call me to discuss, but I never did get that call. I cannot find a phone number for them anywhere.

This site was put together by a member on here, don't know if he is still here or not, but if you want a pub stop, have a look at this.

Chargeback ...direct debit guarantee.

Hopefully harvest hosts will improve this

I've been an enthusiastic supporter of Britstops for several years, on auto renewal.
But I've now cancelled that pending what Harvest Host might do in the coming 12 months...
If they leave the scheme alone, I'll probably renew because it works for me.

I can now confirm I have received full refunds.
Good to see -Broken Link Removed- rectified the issues I have my book this year but not logged onto the app yet I hope it works out well for both subscribers and the organisation as one needs the other

Now £39 a year plus P&P..
They do have discount code SAVE20 for 20% discount listed at the top of their web page https://www.britstops.com/buy-now - this makes it £35.16 including delivery after discount instead of £43.95. This does auto renew at full price each year though unless membership is cancelled.
