We are going again, have done it every other year it's a great atmosphere, the Motor Caravanners Club hold a rally there every year on the field next door.

I am on reserve list for CMC rally but if space where you are all going would come to join you, or at least drive in to say hello!

I'm just trying to work out. Says 4 days of free fun yet they sell tickets and they're not free so is it me?

Completely free for the festival but parking is £100 and inch.

But they don't park MHs.

Festival is free, there is a parking charge but most temporary sitesre within easy walking distance. You don't have to go right onto balloon field to enjoy the show of course but it depends on weather conditions. Last year I think there were only 2 lifts over the 4 days. The tethered balloon glow in the evenings is worth going in for but not by car as queues in and out are horrendous.
There is arena entertainment during the day and usually fireworks and there used to always be Red Arrows on Saturday but not recently.
I enjoyed staying on MCM rally field last year and used the twitter feed in the mornings to determine whether worth getting out of bed at 6 am and it was, on just the one day.

Anyone have a favourite .........where we can fill in those few days between ....cl's, pubs, britstops etc. ?

Sorry can't really help with that one Jude as being a solo traveller it is pretty cheap for me to stay on club sites so will possibly try Tewksbury C & MC site.

Would be lovely to see you there but world gone tpsytrvy at moment...o_O

Doh, I'm confused! Looked at Parsonage Farm, which I understand is a CL.Does that mean just 5 vans? In which case won't it be full. It says you cannot book. We are CMC members. What's the chance of turning up and getting a space?

Time is getting short now! :(

We stayed at parsonage farm mmc in field behind
We paid 10 they paid 9 a night we just drove in Wednesday am
Farmer on gate we paid for 3 nights park where you like
We were jam packed by the weekend portable toilets and a elsan point it's right by entrance Baloons come over
We had a great time will hopefully do it again next year.

I'd already tried ringing them but got no response. Left a message but no reply.

Wyn

We went a couple of years ago to Parsonage farm. Don't think you can book, think you just turn up and hopefully they have room. We arrived quite late, last minute decision from us, and when paying on the gate they said if you can't find anywhere just come back and we'll refund you. But we did manage to find a gap.

If we're going I'll do the same again but I'll make sure we arrive earlier.

Cheers
Al.

Just turn up....
As recommended by @Ambilkate we went in 2015 and by far it's the best place with close access to the festival.
Get to the Angel pub and turn left, that takes you into the farmers field. Someone will be on the gate to take your money.
Was £10 a night when we went, fresh water tap and an Elsan point. No need to phone, they get hundreds there...
Walk across road and into the park for the festival, If the wind is right the balloons can come over the vans as they take off.
If you can, go Thursday night for the evening glow as friday and saturday are really packed.

Parsonage farm is a working farm and they are very busy . Its best just turning up rather than phoning because they will just tell you to just turn up as they dont take bookings . They are a lovely family and will help you find a place to camp I'm sure. Failing that as it seems to be getting very popular the MCC do run a rally on the bottom field which had never been full to my knowledge.
We always tried to get there on the Monday or the Tuesday before the event .We wont be going this year as we are at Saltfleet this year .x

Damn! Just realised we'll be at the Shrewsbury meet. After all that!

I went to the Caravan Club (as was) (Avon centre?) rally a few years back and it was busy but not full. I got the impression that they had never filled it.
Well worth doing, once.
