Hi everyone -- when we phoned Briarfields to book they said they had not taken money from anyone yet and would phone us all back soonish -- we haven't had a call back yet -- is it the same for the rest of you please

Yes, she said that only just returned from vacation and would ask for a 50% deposit when she had things sorted out. Gave her my number and await a call.........

Marstons, food very good, near to retail shopping outlet, Chatsworth, Matlock etc. also does New Year 3 course meal +disco @ £25 per head.

I think it would make a lovely summer rally. Not sure about New year as the weather could cause chaos for organiser. I have a friend who lives quite near and she seems to get lots of snoooooooow in them there parts!

We have managed to get out and about for the last number of New Years. But appreciate the comments, although as before, would be a meet not a rally so individuals would have to book and pay as per this year.

This place is on a main road/bus route and the pub is so popular I don't think you would get near in summer.

I know a farmer with a very good tractor, unfortunately he lives near me and not in Rowsley

After 50 years, many of them twelve hours seven days a week it will seem strange. We have a few bikes to tinker with and get back the road so plenty to do. 300 working days to go, scary.

To be honest, after a lifetime of stupid hours I was really concerned but somehow it was all rather easy. Could not believe how relaxed things are. Mrs Deluxe might not agree..........

After similar hours and weeks I looked forward to retiring and being free to travel at short notice. However the wife did not believe I could retire and be happy so she stayed with her job share.
Turned out she was right. After 6 months of being retired I suffered strong withdrawal symptoms.
At that point I was approached to carry out some contract work and that then expanded and it took another 3 years for me to settle and then enjoy the freedom.
Hope you can avoid. Good luck it will soon be here

Haven't worked for a year now, but no withdrawal symptoms yet..... been offered a few positions and turned them down with considerable delight
