Bourne Jetons

If you're not in a hurry a small file and a couple of penny washers will suffice ;)
H`mmm?. Reminds me of when I was doing my apprenticeship, the 2bob slot machines for 10 Cig`s had not been that long introduced, the guys on the "capstan" lathes on the night shift, had one machine set up to produce exact size, weight, and milled, copies of 2bob coins. They would sell a bag full for 10bob. All the big factories where at it!.

What type do you need? I have 2 I got 10 year ago never seen another bourne using the same kind
:xrofl::xrofl:

We know the feeling over the years we have a tub full, very rare we find a machine that takes any of ours, a couple of weeks ago we was hopeful at wattan aire because ours cost a euro at the time, and the sign on the machine told you where to buy them and the cost was 4 euros, 😉 we had visions of making a killing 🤔 not a chance even though we had two slots each side and looked perfect. 😁 Bob.

Disappointing thread.
Was expecting news about the next film in the franchise.:LOL:

Once below Rouen there are many Aires with free water. I have marked them in an old copy of Camper Stop Europe , so if I need water and have no suitable jeton I refer to this book. It seldoms lets me down. So if you're sitting with nothing to do one night go through the book and mark the included map with a blue high lighter. This will give you a quick reference chart.

I give up.
Well that was a twisty turny thread..poor movan ....Back to my Jeton...a Frenchman next to me saw me looking at the bourne and when I explained to him the problem in my worst French gave me a Jeton...see they’re not all bad ....mind you he did park very close to me...

Jetons or jettons are tokens or coin-like medals produced across Europe from the 13th through the 18th centuries. They were produced as counters for use in calculation on a counting board, a lined board similar to an abacus.

The French can just be a bit slow to discard old technology :giggler:. And what fun watching confused Brits wandering around wondering how to get a drop of water :LOL:.

The French also have an issue with their language becoming 'anglicised' they have a committee to determine which word they officially allow into their language, hence the use of the word 'jeton' as opposed to the word 'token'

So far i have come across 10 different shapes of Jeton/tokens.
typically found at aires and filling stations for water filling and toilet emptying. Be mindful most are shut of in winter at the Ski resorts.
