Bored

Never heard about McLouis till recently, then suddenly see them every day.
Are they breeding locally now @Louis ? Is this due to global warming? or Brexit? (no, started seeing them long before Brexit)
Never yet seen one parked up though, only in flight. Are they perhaps just passing migrants, with the odd isolated colony on eg Anglesey?

(will that do to start with?)

That M/H dealer in Helston used to be a Dealer in McLs don't know if he still is

Not heard of any dealing with them, just the odd one for sale (n)

Does he even still exist? - haven't been that way for quite some years.

Only dealers I can find are in Italy? :xblink:

I was in a local Motorhome Showroom recently and suddenly the salesman i was talking to shouted to his mate "Quick, put the closed sign up", I asked him what was going on and he replied "A Mclouis has just pulled up outside and I think they might be wanting to put in part exchange". :xrofl:

I used to be manager at the riding centre in Gweek. Got the best strawberries from the post office.

Getting recognised now. :xrofl::hot: . Just a thought though ! Is it because they are so reliable and well built that cause lack of posts here ?:imoutahere::dm:

So long as we're pleased with ours Louis, that's what matters!

Mine's been fine really - barring a recent problem with a circuit board, nothing has gone wrong that you wouldn't expect to see on a 10 year old vehicle, most maintenance / repair needs have been on the base van rather than the conversion. It's not the best built van I've ever seen but I've certainly seen worse, I'd describe it as mid-range.

I know that some McLouis models were bargain basement spec and built down to a price - which is no bad thing if it made the van the right price point for someone. Their higher spec vans had all the kit though - I had a look at an equivalent layout new Hymer coachbuilt that was in Travelworld recently, my van was better equipped!

I agree. I was fortunate to find this one 6 berth. Previous owner not looked after it very well but all the tatty bits been replaced or repaired- even the water filter changed (old one was fitted in 2010!). I also couldn't justify spending thousands more on lesser equipped & troublesome motor homes :xThumb:

Saw loads of em this year down in Sicily and all over Southern Italy, the new ones are nice looking vans.:xThumb:

Well another one has joined the pack, Had my Sterling 700 since 2006 on a 2.7Cdi Sprinter, nothing but praise for it .It knocks the socks off the Swift Sundance we had before, Only problem to date is that the Remistar roof light dome has just cracked due to the hinges seizing up, Will try to get a replacement dome no luck so far as Don Amott no longer support them.

Nice one, try measuring up and calling dissmantlers (y)

I saw my first one yesterday in Durham. It was a good few years old and the roof was covered in green mould. It was probably the dirtiest looking vehicle that I've ever seen.

Lazy owners!

Regards,

Andrew
