Book and take the risk

I already have my Isle of Man TT 2 week trip booked for May 2021

And I'm just waiting for confirmation of my 2021 ferry bookings

Obviously they have been transferred from this years booking, but if they hadn't been, I would have been booking them on the 21st May anyway - to get the preferred sailing, bookings are done 53 weeks in advance

Hi Nasher,
I have total sympathy with you having no 2020 TT
my first one missed in 58 years,
The classic TT in August/Sept is also brilliant, ?
less crowded more relaxed atmosphere, more viewing spots available
Still slight possibility, that this event may be possible this year,
subject to how the current crisis pans out.
Let us all be patient, very careful, and remain the right side of the grass (y)

Booked for a week at Trencreek in Newquay end of may. 6 of us. This was booked in January. Starting to wonder if I should check up on the site owners. Good luck all.

Yep, I'm booked & paid for that too!

If it goes ahead this year (doubtful) I'll be a very happy biker

If it's cancelled and the travel restrictions allow, I'll still go anyway - providing the 40mph blanket limit is removed

Did you go the foot & mouth year?

So potentially stopping an EU partner, us, (atm) and allowing an associate in because they are in Schengen.
I think that the UK and Ireland will be regarded as within Schengen when they start relaxing the internal border controls. I think that's the case at the moment anyway? Essential travel to France is currently allowed for UK and Irish citizens? So when they start allowing non-essential travel you should be allowed in to spend your tourist euros :)

Wearing my positivity knickers I’ve booked 3 CMC sites from the beginning of July. Expensive, yes, but still cheaper than the cost of our now cancelled French trip, and with no deposit to pay its a ‘no brainier’. Need something to look forward to!!
We've done similar, booked various CMC sites for long weekends and a week in September, but still cheaper then our cancelled trip to Spain plus kennelling, plus I bought the £100 CMC voucher.

We never book campsites but do have a cruise booked for next year March/April. Singapore to Southampton via some good places. If it is cancelled or itinery changed we may not go as Jordan and Sri Lanka are non-negotiable as far as we are concerned. If we have to motorhome in the UK then we will chance our luck on CS or CLs.

Yes I did go the F & M year,
just for the Okells Beer
I See you are in Pontardawe Nasher
We are almost neighbours (Tycroes)
When we can get out perhaps we can have a beer together
to compare TT notes
Keep Safe Boyo.

As the OP pleased to report that I’ve booked a few days in old Blighty in a small little camp , lovely views , lovely long sandy beach for the mutts and a campsite that have already rung back to say that if we have to cancel the booking can be moved or refunded - no issue .

I should warn you though, whilst I left London at the age of eight, I still have my cockney accent?

Ockells is nice, but on my first trip in 76 Castletown bitter was way better

Cheers,
I have printed this out so i can show it to french customs in early mid june !(y)

I now need someone to write something out guaranteeing an extra year for Frequent traveller, a refund from motorhome insurance and recovery, ACSI extension, an exemption for weight in order to replenish my wine lake, refund from Ambre solaire as i bulk purchased, an extra 6 months on my passport,

I need an extra 6 months added to my life, as it has definitely been shortened

We would normally have been in Paris last week for our grandaughters birthday. Always visit in the summer as well but not to be this year I reckon.

I’m being optimistic and hoping we will be allowed to start moving in the U.K. by end of May.

The only thing we will book will be a ferry near to the time we plan on setting off south.

I'm hoping to still be entertaining France at the beginning of June for a month , If not it’ll likely be up north (scotland) for this years hols

Would that have been Terry O'Hara
who was an aluminium and stainless welding wizard,
If your man was Terry,
Sad to say he has recently gone into a care home due to dementure,
his son Stewart still runs the cottage and welding workshop
A'int it a small world,
due to your remark about the accent,
do will I need a "code book" to talk bikes ? ?

we have a lot in common it seems,
If you have lived in Pontardawe some time,
you may know some of my ex working colleagues,
I worked on maintenance in the Nickel works (The Mond)
at Clydach for 32 years, retired with health probs in 1998,
look forward to some day chatting using our multi racial accents
What bike do you currently ride ?

my FT crossings run out in mid aug so hope to get at some point before then ?

Couple of threads running on this, we, and quite a few others got an extension on our frequent traveller, ours was due to expire in August, and this has been extended to August 2021

I've recently bought a brand new Suzuki GSX-R 1000R - 202bhp nought to sixty before you get on it!

Have a Royal Enfield Continental 535 GT

A 1972 race Honda 350 that I restored from a wreck - Terry did the welding

I am on the final build of a 350 Yamaha race bike from 1974 - I just wish terry could have done the welding on that

Sounds a good selection to choose from,
and to fettle keeping you free from boredom (something I never understood)
I have a 1962 BSA 650 pre unit twin, bought new,
a Honda 800 VFR (pre V-Tec)
A Honda CBF 1000 (touring comfort)
and a Chinese 125, for taking away in the camper
(not to be taken out in the rain or they dissolve Like an Alka-seltzer tablet)
and am also about 75% through renovating a road going
Rickman Triumph Metisse (650 unit Bonny motor)
which will be conventional sit up riding position (so I can enjoy it)
without aching arms, knees and back.

Booked two campsites for music festivals for July, one's been postponed until next year and my booking carried forward. the other one is still on but looking increasingly likely to be canceled/postponed.

Have you been before? Singapore and Sri Lanka are fantastic places.
