I have a Hymer Exsis i and it has the removable bonnet. Two rubber tipped pins locate in deep bling grommets. One is missing. I am trying to find a replacement. Any ideas? I have been on to Brownhills but they say get in touch with Fiat. But this is peculiar to A class vans and not the standard Fiat cab. I can find loads of places that sell 'blind grommets' but they are all flat ones. Suggestions please

It's a Hymer part and it's cheap only £1.
My last van was an Exsis, stupid Fiat dealer managed to loose one. I did have a spare I think I threw it away a couple of months ago.
It's not like a standard grommet, you do need the proper part for it work and hold the bonnet securely.

Edit:
Got them from Premier at Birdham (near Chichester) they had to order them, took about a week.

Thanks Lenny, looks like a phone call to TW. Strange that Brownhills should say it was Fiat and I sent them a photo

I got one from Travelworld. They called it a rubber lamp holder for some reason.

I had a reply from TW and they still call it a lamp holder - price has got up from £1 to £1.82 each and with postage for 2 comes to £13.97. How can they justify that! But I do need one or the bonnet does not fit properly without it. Shall I, shan't I?

I would be buying it. The bonnet is likely to rattle about a bit without it. There is not much you can buy from Travelworld for less than £13.97.

I bet there are thousands of cars using those to secure the plastic engine covers and airfilter boxes... I know both my cars have them.
But you obviously need to know which car uses that size making this post useless.
A hint..... Smear a little grease on the ball, makes removal so much easier and less likely to lose the grommet.

Tried the engine ones, too small.

Premier told me they don’t have a parts department.

Travelworld said they will call back but didn’t.....

Back to Google.....

Certainly will use an adhesive otherwise I can imagine it disappearing and you wouldn’t know till you next opened the bonnet.
Thanks again, that’s what this forum excels at, helping each other with help, info or bits and bobs.
