Board Game Meet anyone?

The list - small but perfectly formed

1. Peter H - either date
2. catspyjamas -
3. maz - either date
4. Ambilkate - either date
5. Loujess - 11-14 Oct

I'm ok with either date, Maz.

Pandemic is just as pricey on ebay as Amazon. It's about £27 which seems like a lot for some cardboard and some counters :Eeek:

Sometimes I think you are paying for the 'idea' rather than the box contents. There is a new sequel to Forbidden Island called 'Forbidden Desert' which is supposed to be a bit tougher than the original - getting good reviews. It's about half the price of Pandemic and has some nice playing pieces. I know how taken you were with the treasures in Forbidden Island.

I think that this is promising to be a lovely meet. Even if no one else was interested we have enough of us now to get the games under way.

I've watched the video now for Forbidden Desert and now want that as well as Pandemic

You're starting to show the classic signs of board game addiction.

Can I interest you in a game called 'Through The Desert'? I haven't played it yet but fished the box out yesterday to see how it works. It involves lots and lots of pastel-coloured camels ...........

That's good because I e-mailed the pub this afternoon confirming that was the weekend we wanted.

Sheila might not be able to resist playing ........

Did I mention there is fishing available from the pub's pontoon? :reel:

Hi Maz

Sorry can't make it this time as we have tickets for Jesus Christ Superstar at the O2 that weekend.

Also as Gail pointed out in an earlier post it's rather a long trip for us Funsters here in the South East for a weekend meet.

Next time(hope there is a next time :thumb:) maybe we will be able to include it in a longer trip.

There's no reason why we can't organise a southern games meet as well :thumb::thumb::thumb:

Thing is, because Funsters are spread out all over the country, we're never going to find one location that pleases everybody. Kent is something of an outpost!

Hi Amanda. I got the game 'Qwirkle' from a charity shop. The box was broken up but I think all the contents are there. I haven't got around to playing it yet - maybe you can teach me at the Board Game Meet.

We have been playing Rummikubs over the weekend and really enjoyed it, although it wasn't ours. We can bring Trivial Pursuit. but the kind where you bet on your opponents perceived ability to answer the question correctly. It was great fun.
