Simon, brace yourself. There is bad news and good news. The bad news is that there are only 2 pubs within walking distance, not 3. The good news is that you can catch the train to Sheffield Park Station and there is a pub in the station.

OMG. Just read that there is a licensed bar at Horsted Keynes that is open during the day at weekends. That I reckon will give you the best alcohol to effort ratio.

@Lisa there is a Waitrose in Sheffield, they even do home deliveries out to us, you might just be in range , there are more around than I thought, I always presumed they were only for the south

Nice idea Peter, we used to camp near there with the scouts in the late 60's, think it was called Broadstone Warren?, we could hear the trains from the camp

We also went to Broadstone Warren with the scouts in the early '60s. We travelled all the way down from South Yorkshire on trains.
