Black tank and even a possible cassette treatment

It's 97% FeSo4 so it's basically Ferrous Sulphate, there's a small (3%) of Calcium Carbonate (CaCo3) which is probably used in it's other applications in water purification or Po4 (phosphate) removal.

I'd suggest someone like APC Pure, it's where i buy most of my lab grade chemicals from.

It should be pretty cheap to buy Ferrous Sulphate in the UK
Exactly the same as the Ammovit product as it's chemically the same barring the few grms of Calcium Carbonate (chalk) in there.

I know what i'd be buying....

My other hobby persuades me to search out source materials vs paying for branded wonder potions.

I'll happily buy some and try it out on my grey tank (don't have a black tank)
Is Ammovit the same stuff that is used as a lawn fertilizer?
Amazon product ASIN B00DJ48NW6

Just done it on my phone and straight through, so reboot the device? Pay the gas bill? I have no idea sorry.

I came across this review of using Ammovit in a cassette scenario with interesting results which appears to contradict in their case the no smell reports from others.

It's in German but my Google Chrome web browser automatically translated it into English. If you have trouble with it not translating then I can copy and paste the text into this thread.

I did read that review, and many others, like most products you get a mix of reviews, just look at anything on Amazon one person gives something a 5 another 1. On the forum from which I gained most knowledge the users are mostly black tank people however I would guess at a 70-30 split in favour of Ammovit. There were some cassette users but very limited and to be frank I was disinterested in that area. However my mate tried some in his cassette and he was pleased enough to buy his own.
I did say in the title that it was a "possible" cassette solution and I would suggest that your own testing would be appropriate, time in the tank is advantageous I have gleaned and if you empty daily or even every other day it may not work for you but I have no real personal experience to quote with cassettes.

As you say, one man's meat and all that.

For me personally, I'm more interested to see if the Ammovit has the ability to breakdown the solids to make for easier emptying of the cassette. I'm not so sure it has time to do so within the 2 to 3 day that our cassette normally last, but having now got a 5Kg tub of Ammovit we will give it a good go and see how it performs.
We have the Thetford version SOG, so we have little or no pong problems within the van, so the smell test will come when emptying the cassette.

What I’m saying is, I go to put the item in basket and get the thinking about it circle, but then times out, won’t let me go any further so I’ve given up.
I understand. I thought you were saying you couldn't get to Paypal because you were using Chrome. I'm using Chrome & Paypal is fine.

Anyone know what the dosage per litre should be? Just got a 5jg tub. I have about a 100 litre black tank

I put 2 tablespoons in my 300 litre tank but I have never had it more than 50% full. I would put the same in yours for a couple of dumps then drop down to one spoon.

Thanks - OK - have done just that today. 5Kg is going to last a lifetime!

I’ve just managed to actually order some, can’t believe I’m delighted to be getting something that’s just going the crapper ?

Old.thread I know but just ordered this for the lawn.
