Booked to go to New Forest this weekend but looks like 45mph winds plus all Friday and Saturday. Would you a) go but storm straps on awning (Vango Attar, not wind out) b) go but keep everything inside and battened down c) stay at home?

We are booked to go away this weekend and won't let the wind spoil the trip - though it may make the beach Barbie a bit tricky lol We will just keep everything inside, not use the awning, and just get on with it.

I'm at a loose end. Just after I'd got van ready this morning I received an email to say that the festival I was due to spend the next 4 days at was cancelled. Serious weather must be expected for it to be cancelled only 6 hours before first performance.

Same here, was due to be stewarding at Boardmasters. Drove down Tuesday as more help was needed for the public arrivals Wednesday. Then at 11pm told it was cancelled. Had a great day at Newquay yesterday and back home today.

Plan E. Gone away but headed north to the C&MC site just outside Blenheim Palace. Winds are only forecast to get to 43mph here rather than the 63mph in New Forest.

Currently sitting outside in the sunshine and enjoying the evening.

Whatever you do this weekend have a great time and come back with everything in one piece.

Wind picking up nicely at the moment in Calais, battening down the hatches and listening to them trees whistle! There she blows me hearties......
