Big Upgrade of Forum Software this evening. Disruption Expected

My "push" boxes are all ticked but I'm not getting bothered by alerts, except for the usual number next to the bell in the top bar. I'm leaving them as they are for now cos that's OK with me.
 
Wow! I've just posted on the "Reliable Weather Forecast" thread. I quoted a website address and on posting it changed to a proper advert. Now that's cool! I'll try it again:-

It’s all seeming pretty slick now. Just one question ...
I’m using the Harry Potter icon to get latest posts and it shows me a few threads then I have the option to ‘load more’.
It does load more but it takes me back up to the very first one again and I have to scroll through the same list before ai see the new posts.

Is there a different way of doing it so I see most recent and can just press page 2 etc.

Jim I have been looking for the media section where all the photos were of past rallies. Do we have it on the new forum? Or is it work in progress.

Does anyone know where I can see which threads I’m watching, apart from the alert box please? I seem to be getting emails, and I’m sure I tick the box that says no emails when I watch a thread. Is it a default to get emails?

Click the Logo top left or tab named FORUMS. Once active the secondary menu underneath the main menu it gives you the opportunity to look at watched threads and forums (y)

Once there you can configure what you are watching.
 
Jim i have one very small nay minuscule problem
With the new site

As i only use an i pad and i phone to navigate the site

My small problem is the report button

Probably my fault for being Left handed

As i scroll down threads i inadvertently tap the report button

And i would hate report any post !!!


I wonder when you have less urgrnt things to do

Would it be possible to move said button closer to the middle :sun: :whistle2:

I'm glad you've kept the RSS feed when so many others are abandoning it.

It allows me to keep an eye on what's happening while at work. The RSS feed slips nicely under the radar, whereas the website would get picked up straightaway :-)

Not as weird as me when answering my phone sometimes ... if I'm out and have gloves on I use my nose! :D

I do have some gloves that you can use to swipe phones with but I don't always wear them.

Does that mean that if you have smilies/emojis on your machine (ie laptop, computer etc), you can use them? If so I'll have to hunt out some and 'kill' them as they drive me nuts having to search through for the ones I want! Jim?

All looking good Jim but just noticed that the dropdown list on the Alerts button is showing the post time in the future, not the past, ie:

Yes - but I've just checked my phone and the PC and they're both back to normal now....:unsure:

Just a quick note to say thanks for the hard work going into keeping the site up to date and making it even more enjoyable. Some folk might find even more facilities that they didn't know about when they press the wrong buttons

Is there any way the 'hover to reveal' feature can be enabled over the top banner headings like before - so you can can preview alerts, pms etc ?
 
Jim Sharing Post and Printing Post.

Just used the sharing post feature to send myself an email with the directions to the Shrewsbury vintage weekend. Link arrived almost instantly.

Next is how to print it. My workaround on my iPad was to copy the paste the content, and paste it into Apple’s word processor Pages. I can now print this document out.

Is there a way to print out a post with the forum that I have not found please?
