Big September Exit

I'm happy in France but understand (I don't have facts) that parts of Spain have rampant COVID.

With double vaccinated people still having say a 15% chance of succumbing to the ghastly infection, and so risking long COVID, I don't like the odds enough to visit Spain
Yes it's ter🤷‍♂️rible .about 25% of the UK daily rate & dropping
I have grandstand tickets (which sell out quickly) for an event in west France in the third week of September. I've not decided yet whether I'll go.
Circuit des Ramparts.
yes only 2 odd seat left in one stand & a dozen or so in another when I was looking last Friday.
have you ever used the free motorhome camping they offer in town at Bourgine?

Tunnel booked for 27th August. We’ve put it back 3 times so far.

If we can go under the current rules, then we’ll go and probably just stay in France for our full 3 weeks… it’s big enough to entertain us and keeps it simple.

If the rules change for the worst on the review next week, then we’ll make a quick decision as to whether we need to put it off again.

Fingers crossed 🤞

No. I stayed once for 4 nights on the car park next to le Musée de la Bande Dessinée and twice I stayed in an hotel. If I go this time, if I take the van, I'll stay at the free camping if I can't find anywhere to park up in the town.

3rd September Portsmouth Santander for a month, this was hald over from last year, which we had booked 31st December 2019. We have retried and moved house.
Touring North West Spain and might get down to Porto.

This Pembs MH is heading to Southern France at the beginning of October. Mixture of France Passion and Aires.
Had a brilliant October at Marseillian, Languedoc in 2019. Enjoy!

Off to France for just two weeks around the 10th once the kids are back in Uni. Heading for the champagne region 🥂. Nervous? Not in the least 👍
If you go to epernay a must if you haven’t been already i can recommend a trip up in the teathered hot air balloon at Moet en Chandon champagne house.

Not even contemplating going next year let alone this.

We're probably in the 'more in hope than expectation' category, more so for France where our hovel possibly is in danger of becoming rewilded after being left for over 18 months, so the maintenance is a consideration, but not at the expense of our health.

Booked on Tunnel for 9th September and down to Portugal where we are booked onto the site for 18th September. Very nervous about the whole trip as travelling in Europe is not like it use to be !
Thanks to those who gave information re Regular user tickets as i discovered that had an extension to end of the year when checked the account. Thanks to Eurotunnel for informing me !!
Could BUSBY please explain what is required for France to Spain to Portugal

Depends where you get your stats from.
According to European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control

the case rate in Spain is the highest in the EU at 603 cases per 100,000 population, twice the UK rate according to the UK government website.

(Aplogies for the bold print, it's got a mind of its own)

There is a danger I guess that those returning may need to isolate again on return if numbers increase here and elsewhere in Europe.

Thanks, I will look into that (y) . Any other tips for the region?

We will be leaving the U.K. on 28th August and travelling through France and Italy to Greece.
We only need our Covid Passes, plus health attestations, to enter each.
I haven’t given any thought to the tests on our return because we won’t be back until the end of October or beginning November and everything will have changed by then.

We keep a yacht in the Ionian and need to get back to renew our Greek residence permits so we can spend more than 90/180 there in the future. Plus hopefully get some sailing in!
Yup...us too!

How many have cancelled UK bookings to make the trip across the water?
Just pondering it.
Have a booking for mid September in Pembrokeshire but I'd rather be heading down to Croatia.
Campsite will transfer to 2022 so looks like a result 👍
Just need to get organised now
