Best site for tunnel December 2021

Many thanks for the suggestions. As we hope to get to Portugal every day will count. That’s why. We want to stay within a reasonable distance to the tunnel as the clock starts ticking as soon as you pass the French border checkpoint so even if you cross in the evening it counts as a full day. We need to check on our cotttage just south of Limoges on the way its been nearly a year since we were last there.

Seem to recallthe access was a bit dodgy for longer / bigger vans ? or have things changed

I mentioned the really steep slope a few posts back, it was our very first trip with a brand new rack on the back and it took about 2mm of steel off both bottom sections.

I’ve had to have the rack rebuilt because of this and wouldn’t go back to the Drum Inn, nice pub but very expensive and to charge 20 quid just to park up is ludicrous tbh
