Hi everyone we’re currently in Portugal been on the road since the end of November. The problem I have is our phones and charging them up. Yes we can charge whilst driving and have a small power pack which will fully charge 5 times. But with 2 phones we’re struggling to stay off electricity for 4 nights or more . The vans geared up to stay out longer! What are people using to charge up phones or small items via usb?

if you can get access to the leisure battery you could use something like this for the time being until you can get a fixed adapter in place

12v clip on socket

You need to fit, or get fitted a USB socket which is powered of your habitation battery. These are very simple to instal, or find and engineer to do it for you.

Or as I do sometimes, just buy one with two slots that goes into your cigarette lighter.

I fitted several of these around my van wherever there is a reading spotlight. They are flat at the back so very easy to fit right next to the lights, no drilling involved in my case as the cable slips behind the spotlight cover and I tapped into the lighting supply cable. They have been great for the last two years or so.

Problem solved everyone my 12v USB adapters that I use in the dashboard cigarette lighter all rattle about in the TV 12v socket so it won’t charge I get a signal on the phone “not charging”. But I’ve managed to source one that’s bulkier and has silver spring straps along its side which pushes into the socket and holds firm so now able to charge from leisure battery
