Guys, wanting to stick the holder for my VB suspension controller to the doorframe of my Fiat panel van, same for remote for EP levellers. Would prefer not to screw them on if possible. Tried Halfords number plate tape, useless they fell off after a few days, now got the residual mess to clean off.
Recommendations much appreciated, there are loads advertised, lots of great claims, but what really works??
Thanks in advance.
Bill

We bought some double sided Velcro stickers a couple of months ago in Lidl to stick a usb socket in the car ....really impressed it’s rock solid and you can just unclimbed if you need to take the item off.

Just found the packet and checked they are available on ebay

3m VHB double sided tape, almost permanent, or 3m's version of velcro, Dual Lock. Like all adhesives surfaces must be cleaned, with meths if alcohol wipes not available. Most off the shelf double sided tapes give way in extreme heat (you should be so lucky)

+This 3M Klett Power stuff is great. I've used small round pads to hold the reversing monitor on top of the dashboard for over a year and a half, just as a temporary job, didn't expect it to hold in all the med heat but it's still there. And you can slip it off the dashboard to hide it while parked etc. I've also used it for other things, it's superb.

I've had mixed results with Gorilla tape. The last time I used it was on handsfree speaker and the heat/sun wouldn't allow it to stay on the inside of a side window.

I second John &Kate's post. Use a fair few of them here and there with good results

Stick and stick Velcro, sticks well and gives you the option for temporary removal for use and changing batteries etc.

Heavy duty Velcro circular patches. Brilliant, John Lewis.

Another vote for the 3M Command and I can recommend it for exactly the purpose you are looking for. I stuck the cradle for the remote of the E&P levelling with it and it held without any issues. You have the luxury of being able to remove it as well if you so wish without leaving a mark. The clever design is such that you leave a small part of the sticky tab visible, when you want to remove the tab, you pull downwards on it and it stretches the complete tab pulling it away from both surfaces without leaving any damage. I bought a bulk order of them from ebay. Work very well and I have a number of them around the motorhome.

Gorilla tape is useless in my experience, great claims and marketing, rubbish performance.

Can't help you with the tape but love your welsh terrier, we have one as well called Jonesy, craziest dog i've ever had, but love him to bits.
