Renault master
Over a year ago i bought an 2002 Renault Master ex-ambulance and set about doing the conversion, lots needed doing.

Upon collection it started and idled fine and my friend following in his jeep set off on a 15 mile journey to the mechanics garage that would do the work. The mechanic i self employed but a quality giy who used to do the mini bus repair for a taxi firm.

I bought the parts required which were injectors, belts, injector cpu, glowplugs, 2 new front calipers and discs all rounds. Then mot.

Then it was head gasket to address oil leak and i did the reworking of the air suspension piping and compressor, and all this before i even start to think about internal stuff.

The ambulance which i'll call "snuffle" and i'll explain late about name, had been rollered in some wired matt black paint and done in the heat of the day, which left a very textured surface.

I then set to repaint snuffle using a brush or roller on caoch paint used on narrow boats, the paint only ony has a 2 minute working time and cures in 4 hours and 24 fully hard, also low reaction to other paints and is self leveling and can be touched up without really noticing once dry. Silver grey was the colour of choice.

So now we have MOT'd, mechanically sound and now looking better.

Scouring the internet i managed to get the following without breaking the budget shower tray, old wooden double bed to manipulate, 2nd hand camper stove/sink combo, kitchen unit sides, shelves, caravan seating and pillows.

New items bought :
USB chargable kitchen tap,
USB chargable shower with good flow rate and 45 to 55 minutes used on one charge,
2 mini solar panels,
108 ahm battery for USB lighting,
solar control unit,
2x 25ltr barrels,
10ltr bucket with lid for sink waster,
shower curtains and the ALLLLLLLLLLLLLL the screws, fixings ect ect ect

Left to do is fit the new removable table, blackout curtains, shower waste pipe and sink waste pipe.

For security i had fitted a cut off for the battery under the bonnet, a clutch lock and a GPS track. NOW.....i looked into all these expensive tracker and 100s pounds for fitting them and thought that with the fitment costs and THEN subscription it was a rip off.
So i bought dog tracker (TRACTIVE) £33 and really cheap subscription options. Anually not monthly and usable around the world ! Because it's a dog one it's USB charged and lasts a week, you can locate it anywhere in the van, options to create safe zone around the van so if the van is moved you get a phone notification.

We foster dogs and the picture i used was of Snuffle the cockerpoo hence the name.

I did all this to suprise the mrs but she's gone of the idea of the camper, so my questions are.

How do value the camper now it nearly done?

I want down size it or not sell it or maybe should part ex it. whats the best down grade?

Or should i just hang on to it?

:hiya: very difficult to value all your hard work on this van. What a shame your partner doesn’t want to try using it. Maybe try a short trip somewhere lovely.
Otherwise for selling, I think you would have to take your chances on Ebay classified and come up with a figure that represents a second/third hand 2002 vehicle. Mostly new owners won’t pay the money involved in adding bits and pieces.
It is likely to sell to someone who is a bit short of money themselves.
