BBQ Help

Cadac state that any hose "shall not exceed 1.5m". I know many people ignore this but it is important that everyone is aware of this before using a longer hose.

Cadac say that a hose exceeding 1.5m would impair the gas pressure, which is understandable, but ours is 3.5 metres long and I could see no discernable difference in the burner flame between ours and one of our caravanning neighbours who has the same Cadac on a short hose. I'm not promoting using longer hoses but just saying that I'm happy it's safe to do so on our setup.

No problem with you doing this just in the event of an insurance claim it would be best for everyone to know what the manual says before a claims agent turned up.

We've had so many different gas type BBQ's and also some of the smaller suitcase type charcoal BBQ's and have now settled on The Cobb, big enough for us, very clean and easy to use and packs away as easy as the small Cadac.

Yes you stated that earlier in the thread, but are sure the OP is not just using BBQ as a generic term for outdoor cooking ?

How would I know?

I can only go on the fact he says “I’m looking to buy a freestanding BBQ”, and the post is titled BBQ :rolleyes:

But the OP was not asking for advice on buying a BBQ, he was asking about the external BBQ gas outlet. The “I’m looking to buy a freestanding BBQ” was a statement not a request for ideas and has been the likes of us that have hijacked the thread into what's best for him to buy. ;)

Funny how people read into threads differently. :cautious: Of course if the OP came back to his thread he could clarify this and not let the standard Funster thread wander.:rolleyes:;)

I had a Cadac for years, they’re ok I suppose and you can buy loads of different pans and stuff.
I now have an Iroda O grill, I find it very good tbh and a lot cheaper than Cadac.
Similar to the Weber too.
I've used a Cadac and didn't like it much. I was interested in your Iroda O grill, never heard of them before.

Was interested, until I saw the price of them. Check this out!

Is this something like you've got? doesn't seem like many places sell them.
