HI, just checked the battery status on the meta trak app on my phone been keeping eye on it since i got a low battery warning , i took the van out around the M60 the other day got back voltage was 12.7 today 11.7 is this normal or do i have a problem? i can put the charger on and leave it for a few hours , but what voltage should it go too , don't want to overcharge it .thanks

I would expect the gauge to drop back as the battery (hopefully) takes a charge and then the green fully charged light comes on , out of interest what is the reading on your phone app at the moment.

That is not correct for a battery on charge , is the battery on charge the same as the one shown on your phone ie- Starter battery or leisure battery

A battery not charging, with no load on it, will settle to between 12.8V and 12.0V. When actively charging, the voltage goes up to maybe 14.5V when actively charging, and will drop down to about 13.5V if/when the charger switches to float charging mode. Float charge mode is supposed to keep the battery fully charged, without overcharging, just pushing in enough charge to stop the battery discharging.

gus-lopez As I now understand it that is the leisure battery state of charge and it is shown with the EHU mains/charger as the charge supply to it at that time.. Apparently there is not a similar display for the starter battery condition.

It doesn't matter, I put a permanent cigarette socket in my van and plug my charger in that, saves lifting carpets/bonnets. By coincidence I have just got back from from my van in storage as I had to put it on charge yesterday as we have had very low cloud over the last week or so and the 2 solar panels couldn't keep up with it. It was only down to 12.3V so about 70% capacity and it would have only been a few days before it was down to 50% which I don't want to get to.
Same charging system as myself now via the live 12v cig.socket.
Works very well for the Cab battery.
Habitation battery remains charged via the on board charger, checked monthly and put on charge when needed.
Van is stored/ used at home.
