The sliding door on our 79-4 seems to have come off its runners and now sticks and makes a horrible noise when I try to open it.

Anyone know how I get access to the the runners? Do I need to disassemble the frame?

We had the same issue with our 79-4T.
Couldn't fix it so in the end left it open with a view of getting it fix later, we didn't, we sold the van along with many many other issues with it.
To be honest we were glad to see the back of the bloody thing.
Hope you get youra fixed.

We removed our sliding door and replaced it with a curtain, it saved some weight.

That doesn't sound promising.. We have not had any other issues with it over the 4 years we have had it.

Don’t know if you have the same mechanism as the sliding door on our 68-2 ?
If so, if you squeeze the two tabs on the top slide hangers together it will release the door, which would allow you to relocate it on the bottom runners.
The holes in the metal knob just below allow you to adjust the height by turning as required.
If yours is different then pictures would be useful.

Had a look at ours and it’s more likely you have grit underneath the slider. The photos show it can be lifted slightly to clean underwater.

Just realised where my annoying rattle is coming from and the frame is loose. Seems to be screwed from the inside of the inner frame so not a five minute job. Can tell you if you want to remove yours the top inner caps have two torx T20 screws, didn’t get any further than that.

It's very similar.. However, it seems our door just hangs and there is no lower track. I'm managed to remove the hangers but I can't see a way to remove the door for better access 😔

I'm. referring to the sliding door between the bedroom and the rest of the Motorhome. However, your post will be useful to others. It's a shame there is no "assembly" guide.

We got the dealer to remove ours so if they did any damage they could rectify it (y)
