Next 3rd world issue to solve

Noticing a few “wear” patches on the awning. Was going to buy some water proof transparent patches to reinforce unless you have any great tips ? Was also thinking clear nail varnish

I don’t know what make you have fitted, but I do know Fiamma sell replacement awning material
It’s possible that if you have wear patches showing then it won’t be too long before the whole lot gives up

I had 2 small tears in my awning some years ago due to my stupidity in not securing it sufficiently in gusty weather.
Repaired with the correct transparent patches I bought from a dealer. It's still good many years later .
I wouldn't try nail varnish as they take quite a lot of stress even in light winds.

Any advice on this tear in my awning. Happened during a gust of wind and is along the hem of the awning. Looks like it could propagate quite easily so reluctant to use it which is a pity as we are in the muffle of France.

many many years! since I was a kid
I think that is a tad beyond repairable with tape. Either shorten the awning and reattach or a whole ne fabric needed

A ne fabric ? Is that a Scottish muffle ?

Gaffer might get them through the holiday though , but agreed a new canvas required

I would try to source “sail repair tape” or if not available locally try to source “Gorilla Tape”. Standard gaffer tape isn’t that strong these days.

Thanks for all the replies. Didn’t think it would be an easy fix. I’ll wait till I get home then shop around for a repair/ replacement. I like I’ve idea of shortening it a bit rather than total replacement. Tough lesson.
