Kingham autosleeper
Hi we’ve just bought a Kingham auto sleeper privately so no back up. We have it at a storage facility. It has a solar panel does it need to be connected to main electric while stored?
Yesterday the panel above the door was flashing and the battery indication showed nothing charging?
Should the control panel be left switched on?
Urgent assistance needed please.

Hi from a fellow Kingham owner!

There’s no need to leave the van connected to mains when not in use, the solar panel would/should provide enough electricity to keep the batteries charged up.

Re the flashing panel, the last time this happened to us it was because the main fuse to the habitation battery had blown. This would prevent the habitation battery from charging from solar or any other source as the control panel can’t “see” the battery.

The fuse is located under the settee. Easiest way to access is to remove all the cushions first as your fighting against them trying to close the settee when you’re trying to lift it up.. The fuse is at the back, on a lead which doesn’t seem to go anywhere and just has a fuse at the end of it. Recommendation is a 25 amp fuse, the factory fitted 20s for a while but recommend replacing with a 25.

If you can’t find the fuse then drop me a pm and I’ll take some pictures.

we have a 2024 Nuevo and was delivered with the 60amp lithium battery even though i paid for the 100 amp. used on non ehu sites. all seemed ok until 2am and alarm sounding for low battery. was concerned as gas for fridge is operated by electric valve. made it home without losing fridge contents. dealer changed battery to 100amp and after 3 nights without ehu same thing happened. the only things switched on are the wifi router and fridge, frightened to switch on lights or tv! came home and after one week with all switched off both batteries are fully charged. have an 80watt roof panel and a 100 watt portable.
looks like another trip to the dealer.

Get a simple multimeter.
Measure battery directly.
Over 13volts will show solar is working. Under 12.8 ISH and solar is not working.
