Even then a lot of screens fit over or in place of the rear view mirror, so no different to looking in a conventional mirror.Better sell my cars then as they all have them..
BUT,,, Maybe he's thinkin about the screen being on while driving forward ?? Did you ask for that ??
I’ve got a reversing beeper…god I’m such a rebel….

That's how I use mine. It's a Sony mini CCTV camera with a 10" monitor and is obviously on all the time as a rear view camera. In fact it's useless as a reversing camera - must get around to installing oneI would have thought a 'permanant' rear view camera would be a bonus for mohos that dont have a window in the back wall
Mine is an original equipment item fitted from new by Burstner. It does automatically operate when in reverse but you can switch it (through the Pioneer Audio/satnav unit) to be on while you drive. Never occurred to me that might be illegal? Surley it's no different to having a rear view mirror?I have seen quite a few systems that are designed to only work when reverse gear engaged?
Never thought before if this was due to some regulation?
Mine is wired to be screen ON whenever I want it on and it shall remain that way!
Surely the rear camera display screen is not a cathode ray tube?(2) In this regulation “television receiving apparatus” means any cathode ray tube carried on a vehicle and on which there can be displayed an image derived from a television broadcast, a recording or a camera or computer.
