At last, decent cheese in France.....

It's just the cutting board to make the florets with Tête de Moine, although it's probably easier to just buy them already pre-cut.

Croissant, goats cheese and honey for breakfast. Love goats cheese and although we can get locally made here doesn’t seem to taste the same as the French.

Had some brie a few months ago, was on the buttermilk chicken burger in Wetherspoons. Was horrible, like a piece of insipid gungey plastic ? not that I've tried plastic before ?
Ah, but that was Wetherspoons 'brie'. Now try some proper stuff.

mmmmmmm cheese !
When I went to France many years ago they didn't cook anything properly.
Fried eggs the white was see through.
Skewers the rice was red.
Beef was red.
Everything was red.
I had what I thought was a sausage roll out of a vending machine and it had chocolate inside ?
The only meal that was cooked was a casserole which was a taste sensation.
The wine was cheap though so Vive la France !

Don’t like goat or blue cheese but France and Italy are cheese heaven,,,, that is mostly what we eat for lunch with bread and tomatoes when we are in Forren Climes..... walking through markets or fromageries in a trance of joy a happy memory ... only downside is coming home; we do love English cheese as well but as more veggie food her plus not often able to lunch here is a big wrench. It is more addictive than heroin apparently ( fake news maybe but tell me that as I wander gaunt eyed at 7.30 am wondering ‘ is there any CHEESE and French bread in the house’)

My favourite is Beaufort d,ete
Ditto! We brought a huge slab home with us. Great when we had seen the cows grazing the high alpine pastures whilst mountain biking in the region!

I heard that there is an Englishwoman in Honfleur area who sell English cheeses in the various markets around there, and that although she started out with few sales, she is now doing very well. I love all cheeses, very few I wouldn't eat (apart from Dairylea - but is that really cheese?)

You really can't beat a nice ripe Brie, its got to be ripe though, if it don't stink its not ripe enough

We brought a copy of the DK guide to French Cheese and slowly working our way through it trying a couple of new ones on each trip.

I had Camembert steeped in Calvados once, I’ve been searching France ever since but haven’t found it.

I am very fond of white Stilton, especially with Christmas cake. Hard to find though.

I can't get enough of this stuff when I'm abroad, always bring a couple of packets back too. Not a fan of processed cheese, but this stuff hits the spot on a savoury cracker !

Roquefort, Gorgonzola, Bleu d'Auvergne, Stilton any blue cheese all really delicious ?
I’m beginning to think I’m not really a cheese person. I’m not keen on any blue cheeses either.

Aldi's cream cheese with herbs is nice and only about 60p a tub.
Tip of the day: blend some with Tuna and a squeeze of lemon to make Tuna pate ?

Right my tin hat is on... Let me have it ?

Even the French do triangles:

Be it cheese or anything else we prefer to try all the local options and avoid "same as UK" like the plague when abroard, all part of the experience for us.

Be careful if you are tempted to buy your cheese from the market traders unless your French is word and accent perfect. They will rip you off mercenary especially one with a big handle bar moustache in the Dordogne region.

Last time we were in France we had a job finding the cheese in a Cheese shop , we eventually found it under a lot of Blue Bottle Flies !! some of their hygiene in shops. is non existent , or it maybe we are too fussy.
