That might be a good idea, it's still raining with me a mile or so from the show ground, the puddles are getting bigger. I am wondering if I should have put the dive gear on board.:Sad:

I did get a bit of wheel spin when I was out yesterday , and that was just on the bike.

When I leave here tomorrow, no internet, and relax.. so what if it rains.. I will enjoy watching everyone .. I love people watching.. I cannot see the gear all coming out this time.. so it may be food in the RV for a change.. TV on and of course run the genny.

I looked at the table.. big winds all the time and even higher gusts... does not sound good.

I am dreading the run up in the morning as the cross winds will be hell. as high as 46 mph
that will make it a long and hard drive.

oh yes, more so in RV's

Oh yes, even more so in an RV.. while we have power steering and have a lot of weight, most RV's are very slab sided and prone to wind effect, same as an arctic lorry.... I suspect it is worse for the Fivers as the trailers are taller and have less actual road weigh on the axles.

RV's are not exempt from the weather.

Heavy rain this morning as we were driving to Peterborough and showers this afternoon but the sun has been out for approx the last hour.

We are where we were three years ago but a larger area. Some of the ground is soggier than other parts but most isn't too bad. There was much deliberation this afternoon as to how to best mark out the pitches so that everybody has a good chance of getting on (and worry about getting off later ). Hopefully the result will work

If its going to be as boggy as expected, there are two tips to help yoursleves out, as tractors, and people with winches will no doubt be busy.
To pull someone out who's stuck, you need to be on a hard standing, this may be a way from thr stuck vehicle, so if everyone carries a long strop, several can be joined to help out. Also,.....its worth carrying a means of inflating your tyres. When tyres are fully inflated, they are designed to grip...for grip...read "dig" in soft conditions, even a mild bit of spin will dig you a nice hole. If you deflate your tyres down to something like 20psi, you will see the footprint incrase dramatically, the tyres will be softer and will dig less. Once back on hard standing, you will spend less time reinflating them than you would have getting out...and less messy.
If you use anything like "tracks" boards, or mats to give you a start....tie some washing line to them...so that if you do accidentally bury them, you wont have to dig them out.

Hopefully, we will still have some fun,..........even if a little moist.

i agree with darklord on this one (32 years of offroading and my vehicle recovery busines teaches you something along the way) i will be loading some strops/slings /ropes into the rv tomorow along with a 12 volt compressor. i might of known it would rain because i spent 3 hours with my steam cleaner on saturday cleaning the winters grime of the rv on saturday ohh i must pack my wellies and waterproofs,and just incase the weather is realy bad,loads of vodca,i must admit i've never found the vodca helps recover the casualty vehicle .but it sure takes your mind of the problem for a whilehope to arrive about midday thursday:thumb:
