Are you lower class or up a class!

Did you react and open the thread when you saw the title and who the poster was hoping for another rant at him?

I must admit I did. He is very controversial in his postings but never come anywhere near rule one yet.

I think he’s brought as breath of fresh air to the forum.

Jim has given us the ability to read or ignore, those that don’t like either 596 or his posting have the choice
Have to agree,,quite entertaining which I think he sets out to do.It is after all Motorhome Fun..BUSBY?

596 you do make me smile how your mind works and the obscure topics you come up with you are definitely in a class of your own and I'm not entirely sure what class that is.
Personally I think anyone who worries about class has a problem.
You I think are a wind up merchant

Depends what hat I wear.
You could say I have a payload of 150 tons at times, does limit the use of roads though.
Other times a payload of 2 tons, depends on what boxs are loaded and how many tools needed.
Prefer the enjoyment mode of transport and have never weighed it, doubt I will, and live on the basis of if it looks right then it is right, a proven strategy through many a country where in light of having permits but wishing to crack on, the use of warning signage and flashing lights was not deployed.
Been looked at strange by various enforcement agencies but a shrug of the shoulders and waving of arms usually sees them wave me on my way.
Same as arguing about being in a camping car at toll booths.

So to sum up, ........ Doesn't matter what class, how many lights, boats, parrots, dogs, butlers or whatever, just go and have fun, enjoy what you have, and be happy.

Just come in from whipping the servants and tupping the upstairs maid. to see your thread.
Immediately jumped to the wrong conclusion that some lower class oick was getting uppity!!
After loading the shotgun with #12ball, realised I was wrong.

Feel better now after tupping the Cook, Scullery Maid and the Vicars Wife.

Keep up the good work my fine fellow!(y)

Im a proper boot polishing street rat. But my truck is 7500kgs gross with an unknown payload ? guvna

If you are looking at top of the class then its got to be A class US RV Diesel pusher 12+tonne GVWR with a payload of 3+Ton :)

How hard is it to get an HGV licence? could be my next project ?

It's not all about class. Ours is slimmer and lighter than most so bucking the trend of the looming obesity crisis. We are kinder to the environment by using less fuel and unlikely to need the dwindling resources of the NHS in the future.

You are definitely lower class as my last one had a payload of 32 ton and I could sleep in it but if you define everything by weight you will get abnormalities if you see my point

Our previous van was too “classtrophobic” so we thought we would move up to an A-class. When Hymer said it was really a B-class I didn't realise that meant the payload was worse than the classtrophobic van. Caveat emptor!

Previous PVC - a Globecar Campscout:
Originally 3500kg but we had it upped to 4250kg at first registration so didn't have to pay for it to be done (2100kg front axle and 2400 rear axle max), gave us more payload than we knew what to do with - over 1200kg!

New A-class - Carthago Compactline i-138:
3500kg but registered at 3700kg at first registration however we made it clear from the off we wanted 3850kg (on sales agreement) so the dealer is now having to pay to have it uprated. We took it to the weighbridge recently with most stuff in, half a tank of water but no clothes or dogs and came out at 3640kg so we definitely need the 3850kg (1850kg front and 2000kg rear) - once it's been fully loaded up and stuff moved around we'll be close to the rear axle max but still within it. What it has proved though is that even on with it being a so-called super-lightweight it certainly isn't and I seriously doubt it it could be used at 3500kg unless you took very, very little with you, this supports our suspicions when the first saw them a few years ago when we said there was no way they could be usable at 3500kg. Fortunately we don't have licence issues so don't need to worry about uprating.

56 days, 916 posts. Got to admire your stamina, and now I've got the measure, I'm mildly amused.
If his posts were in the 'Morning Funsters' thread he'd get banned for offending people by demonstrating that he's so fit and healthy. ;)

I’ve been contemplating hitting the “ignore” button for some time now, but this thread has now made it a very easy decision.

Thanks for the guidance 596!

I’m joining the ‘ignore’ fellow funsters

That can’t be a Swift ?

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr you are correct. :gum:

O well, I’ll just have to struggle on with my tight, limited 2.4t. :clap2:
