Hi, does anyone know if the connections are different between Flo Gas and Calor Gas propane bottles please? Thanks

Great thank you. I have 2 x 6kg calor propane but my new motorhome will take 2 x 11kg, which calor don't make!! Would prefer to have 22kg rather than 12kg but wanted to check I could connect them. CheersBoth are industry standard POL fittings.
YesI would expect the 11kg bottles will sit higher than my current 6kg calor, would you agree?
Yes. I have fitted a filter between the bottle and the regulator.I would expect the 11kg bottles will sit higher than my current 6kg calor, would you agree?
Sounds a silly question but what is the filter for? ThanksYes. I have fitted a filter between the bottle and the regulator.
No, No, No, the bulkhead regulator MUST be above the bottles.
Surely the regulator needs to be above the cylinder outlets.Just ensure that the bulkhead regulator is below the height of the valves on the bottles.
To collect any oily residues that escape from the bottle. These can kill a regulator.Sounds a silly question but what is the filter for? Thanks

PS I must type faster
Ok thanksTo collect any oily residues that escape from the bottle. These can kill a regulator.
Thanks, but now I am confused lolNo, No, No, the bulkhead regulator MUST be above the bottles.
To stop oils getting into the regulator the regulator must be above the level of the outlet on the bottle. That way any oils run back downhill into the bottle rather than downhill into the regulator if the regulator is below the bottle outlet. Thanks, but now I am confused lol
I see now, so if the bottles are higher then the current regulator level maybe too low, I will measure the height of the new bottles. Just read something about it can be level with valve as long as not lower, is that correct? ThanksNo, No, No, the bulkhead regulator MUST be above the bottles.
That is why I have put in a filter, just in case.I see now, so if the bottles are higher then the current regulator level maybe too low, I will measure the height of the new bottles. Just read something about it can be level with valve as long as not lower, is that correct? Thanks
Thanks. I don't feel confident fitting filters but appreciate the adviceThat is why I have put in a filter, just in case.
Thank you, I will pop up to motorhome this weekend and measure. Is the 560mm total height or to top of valve? CheersAn 11kg Flow gas bottle is 560mm high and a 6kg Calor bottle is 495mm high so I would say the regulator would be to low the use Flow gas.
It is easy. It just connects to the side of the regulator and you simply connect your pigtail to that.Thanks. I don't feel confident fitting filters but appreciate the advice
Hose from the regulator need to run downhill to the bottle.I see now, so if the bottles are higher then the current regulator level maybe too low, I will measure the height of the new bottles. Just read something about it can be level with valve as long as not lower, is that correct? Thanks
Ahh right , that simple. With the filter, does that mean regulator still needs to be higher than the bottle valve? ThanksIt is easy. It just connects to the side of the regulator and you simply connect your pigtail to that.
So, Bottle……Pigtail to…… Filter on the side of….. Regulator.
Uses the same size connectors. I did it, get you could.
Ok thanksHose from the regulator need to run downhill to the bottle.
Can they go upwards from the bottle up to a higher level then back down to the regulator so that oils don’t flow directly downhill to the regulator?Hose from the regulator need to run downhill to the bottle.
