Are campsites opening 2nd dec

Chrimbo is a month away which is a long time in my books anything can happen

Tier three they are all shut, tier three can’t go lower tier or travel. Tier 2 can travel but not to a lower tier.
According to the guidelines on the app, anyone can travel from a 2 to a 3 or through a 3 provided they don't stop to stay or use hospitality. If you travel from a higher to a lower tier, you must act as if you are still in the higher tier in terms of household mixing, socialising etc. To be sensible though surely its best to stay in your own tier? If you are in a 3 and want to overnight in a 2, I guess its down to the camp operator whether they accept you or not but would be conditional on using own facilities and not the shop, clubhouse or washouse.

These are “guidelines” only. There is a barrister who believes such restrictions are illegal in European human rights law (which we are still under). It just needs someone to take it to court!

If a site will accept you, there shouldn’t be a problem.
Well the courts aren't open fully in the uk, and we leave the EU in 5 weeks.
Might be best to just sit still for a bit longer and then see.
What's the immediate rush?
I would also love to be away, either here or in Europe, but hey-ho.
Next years another year.

If that barrister is so sure of his/her thoughts, he/she should go to Court using his own time and money.

Thought tier 3 couldn't over night supposed we will see I live 10 mins from castleton but might not be able to go
Other cement works are available in the Peak District! :tounge: We are the same stuck in Tier 3 and twiddling thumbs less than 2000 miles this year.

If you think its a bit harsh in uk then pity the French..They have had a proper lockdown..No one has really taken any notice of regulations in uk..As Jim Royal would say LOCKDOWN my arse,,,BUSBY.
Lol but we MIGHT get a bit more freedom on 15th December but if folks misbehave well ? No eating out or coffee even till 20 Jan . Fed up cooking lol
BUT not too bad compared to my daughters 7 months in Melbourne . But they did get out for 2 weeks in the middle and idiots trashed it so ended up 7 months .
This is only the 3rd winter we have spent at home but there is a light at the end of the tunnel a vaccine so happy to wait for it and not chance being dead before it arrives lol

Don't worry you won't miss Xmas next year as it will be band all together under Boris jack boot 👍
Wow. Such venom. And just what would you do? Go on, enlighten the whole world as to what they are doing wrong and just how the scientists are numpties.

Indeed so. I've been retired 15 years so no stress at all. I get my relaxation from many interests including a couple of vintage motorbikes undergoing winter restoration and maintenance in the workshop with heating, a brew and Dire Straits for company. Such is my relaxation that I occasionally forget to return indoors for luncheon.
Top man. Right up my street too. (y) (y)

There are so many that SEEM to know more about Covid than our doctors and scientists,,,dont know where they trained to become such experts..If people had behaved in the original lockdown i think things would not be so serious now.I still see people walking into supermarkets without washing their hands,,i see them pressing buttons on pelican crossings and opening gates and climbing over stiles without wearing gloves,,they are crazy. Think that unlike say the Blitz and other disasters people are passing away in hospitals etc away from public view.If deaths were occurring in the street in public view attitudes would be so different..BUSBY..

Hey we all use our motorhomes as we see fit mate if you don't use yours in the winter that's your choice I guess that's the attraction for alot of us it's when it suits we'll normally anyway lol
living in derbyshire staying local is an option living in london i can go 20 miles and still be in london

Have moved a prev booking that was put on hold with ccc to windermere for 19&20 dec on the phone.
I'm going from a tier2 Liverpool to a tier 2 Cumbria passing through a T3 lancs on m6 at 60mph so no stopping and will use own facilities so well happy.

Actually do we need a Green Card from 1st Jan to travel in the EU? (this must have been covered elsewhere and apologies for going off piste)

I’ve just had an email from my insurers offering me a free green card, assume it’s imminent?

Tier 3 can travel into tier 2 they must obey tier 3 rules so no overnighting

It says you can overnight in Tier 3 as long as you are in your household bubble. It says travel is not advised and minimise journeys.

It is however clear as mud!

You could use campsites in Tier 3 last time as long as you were also in Tier 3 and local. A great idea you would think, but not anymore.

Latest I have from C&MC is that Welsh sites are open from 2nd, ( the ones that normally are open in Dec) but only to people with a welsh home post code ( following instructions to them from Welsh assembly)
We are going to Shrewsbury next Fri 4th, Tier 2 to Tier 2,

Tier 3 campsites are closed, I believe legally tier 3 residents can travel, but i have friends who are struggling to find sites in tier2 to let them come. (Morris Leisure for example)

I called into Pembrey today to inquire about future bookings and the very nice lady there said there were rumours that they could be closing this weekend and not be open for Christmas.
Anyone heard this ?

Cancelled my site for next week as I didn’t think the DVLA would register my van in time, V5 sorted in less than 2 weeks.
emailed the site and they have put my booking back on for Friday-Monday👍
We are tier 2 same as site we are going to, the one we have for the new year is in a tier 1 but seems you are allowed.

We were off to a 5 van site in Northumberland on the 3rd Dec, contacted the owner to confirm or otherwise, told all sites were closed until their teirs we changed, Will be reviewed on the 16th

We dont have tiers in Wales or have a missed something I have been out all day
