Rally Appuldurcombe Rally Isle of Wight 26/06/23 to 01/07/23

If you are a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club you get 50% discount on Wightlink Ferries if you book through the Camping and Caravanning members only section of their website. The discount only applies for larger motorhomes

I never knew that, but it begs the question, why, is that not discrimination?

PS. I have just looked in the members only section of CCC and cannot find this discount, under what section is this available?

I’ve just had a dummy run booking the ferry from Lymmington, a day before, and returning a day after the rally. I used the C&CC link to get my member discount and was astounded to see the outward journey was £168.60 and the return £184.20😳😳😳.

That’s a lot of money for a 40 min ferry crossing, even for a 7.9mtr Moho.

Can the campsite offer a better deal?

Yes, Red Funnel from Southampton advertise ferry crossings in this month CCC magazine, including 3nts campsite, up to 4 people with EHU for £105.
5nts. £146
10nts £263
Only the campsite near Cowes open all year.
Not sure about Lymington?

Yes we're members
A great saving but for the offer with Appuldurcombe it's through Red Funnel which includes ferry travel.

With regards to my previous thread about having a rally on the Isle of Wight I have some good news.
Proposed 'motorhome fun rally' from 26/06/23 for 5 days.
The lovely site at Appuldurcombe in Wroxall have up to 30 pitches available for us so we can all be in the same area.
The rally would be sited in the main field.
They haven't received confirmation yet from Red Funnel as to when they release the rates for the packages next year.Hopefully it will be the end of October.
It will be a first come first served for booking so keep you're eyes open for further information about booking on here.
All the best Kim 😘
Yes please!

Hopefully this link works......https://www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk/travelabroad/ferries/ferries-to-isle-of-wight/
If not log onto CCC site (This is done on my laptop, not sure about phone etc) click on the Travel Abroad just under the search bit, on the drop-down banner click on ferries and scroll down until you find Wightlink, click on that and follow their instructions, you will need your membership number.
The discount doesn't show until you click to go onto the journey extras page.

As I live on the island I use it quite often

Also it is not uncommon for the staff at the ports to measure the length and they can get stroppy if you're under

Hope that helps

Thankyou! I would never have thought to look for ferry to the IOW under Travel Abroad

I’m interested, went to the IOW several years ago and enjoyed it so will look forward to it depending on cost of rally and ferry.

Was interested untill I saw the ferry prices. Those prices and the diesel cost bit to much for me. Thanks for the research Ken.

I’ve never been to IOW, quite interested but it does depend on the cost.

The prices for next year from Red Funnels special camping and ferry deal hasn't been released yet, probably the end of of October.
Watch this space.
Red Funnel have special offers with a few campsites here on the island and what Ken was looking at aren't the special offers.

Where is the site? Is it near a shop, Pub and Bus Stop?
Can you walk to the coast?
