Anything nasty or bitey in Portugal?

I was in Portugal 2 months ago and got multiple stings from a bee or wasp.

Since then I've had nasty things happening in joints and muscles.
Doctors are baffled, so I'm clutching at straws here.

Anyone know of naughty nasties?

I never had a rash.

It was definitely a hornet or bee. I was on the bike and it got inside my leathers and attacked me.
Had to bash my chest to kill the bugger.

This was on a race circuit at about 100 mph

Hornet ??? You’d know if it had been a hornet. If it was big enough to have had passengers, first and second class then it was big enough to be a hornet…. They is huuuuge.

I get stung usually once a year in almost exactly the same way, expect push bike. Usually warm days at the end of summer and a bee ends up down my slightly unzipped jersey, wriggle, wriggle, and then oh f……. Whilst a bee sting seems often worse the wasp stings are always multiple, 3-5 before i managed to halt their activity - apparently a funny sight for my cycling buddies

Could the two things be totally separate ?
