Anyone Know What This Tool Is For?

wire locking pliers , aircraft engineers for the use of.
Not seen a set for years but were very handy fixing helicopters.

Still use them for RN Aircraft. Roll Royce locking tool they are called in our tool boxes. Far easier twisting by hand though.
 
An old post resurrected but....

Go to any proper farm shop or roadside stall and buy a 25kg bag of spuds.
You'll find the bag top is secured with wire twisted by those pliers.
an absolute multitude of uses

The potatoe sack ties are made for the job with an eye either end and the twister tool has a hook.

now that's a challenge..

there used to be proper farm stalls.. selling local grown produce.. now they are mostly just stalls on farms .. and sell fruit and veg from around the world..unrelated to the local grown veg... shops set up in disused farm buildings and leased out

farming has changed, it's industrial, you won't find farmer Gilles riding around on his grey Massey Fergusson with string tied round his trousers... you may catch sight of the farm manager riding around on his posh pickup truck or shopping at the local Tesco..
 
Lock wire pliers. Used by motor racing enthusiast's to lock wire sump plugs etc.
Very handy tool :)

Yep , i agree , i got a pair i use on my power unit .
