If you have or had a tow bar it could be to isolate a permanent live outlet from the 7 or 13 pin socket.

Yes I do have a towbar with 7 pin electrics.
I don't think a 7 pin set up has a permanent live but I'll take a look.

Not sure if the Ducati has heated mirrors.

Do you have a reversing camera? Our first van had a switch like that to turn the rear camera on and off as at the time it was illegal to look at a TV screen when driving

It does have a reversing camera, it only comes on when reverse is seletced, but I'll take a look tomorrow.

Mine does, and they are operated by pressing the rear screen demister button.

I have a rear screen heater switch that illuminates when pressed so I must have too. No heated rear window though?

I have no rear window either, it’s just how it’s wired as a van ??

Looks like you’re going to have to trace the wiring as far as possible. You’re not going to be able to identify it any other way, methinks.

Yes most do, the heated rear window switch turns them on.

Thanks everyone for your help and ideas on this one.
I checked yesterday with the habitation electrics on and there's still no power there.
I popped out the radio to have a peep behind. The wires from the switch didn't head that way, unless they are spliced into the fiat loom further back. The power to the radio came from the ISO block connector on the fiat loom.
I'll take the lower panel off at some time to get s better look.
I'll report back with any findings.

Perhaps it was secretly installed by the govt as they knew lockdown was gonna be coming so it is a way to keep you from being bored!
