Anyone help me find my perfect motorhome ?

All three are better than UK built quality wise but not always the layout Brit's seem to like. We've always had Hymer's and after almost 200k miles over 12 yrs and 3 vans never had a problem except our water heater control panel on the 1st one (30 yrs old) which I fixed for £50.

Or the Hymer B678 like mine. Almost identical layout to the B704, but a tad shorter.

Are you looking for new or second hand? Layouts offered vary from year to year with most converters.
I'm look for a 2018/ 2019 with a max budget of 80k

Yes thanks the 709 is very similar to the 4 I have on short list. I've also been to see the frankia f line 740 plus today. And was very surprised by the impressive rear lounge although it did reduce the size of the garage.

When we did our search, we found the Hymer washrooms to be the best in the business.

And if you're going with front wheel drive, their SLC chassis is also the best in the business currently.

Another that's going to be better in the Hymer than in the other two in my opinion, is the oven. They fit the Thetford cooker whereas Frankia fit the Dometic one on top of the fridge and Carthago fits Smev ovens. Also, that Thetford cooker has a 2400w burner that's going to boil a pot of water quicker than the other two.

Carthago has very good insulation but the outside surface aspects of the aluminium sheet is not perfectly smooth like on the Hymer PUAL panels. Nothing more than a cosmetic detail, but at those prices it would bother me.

Inside, the wooden parts of the furniture in the Carthago are peerless in my opinion, as well as their beds, especially with the lifting head. I don't like their washrooms that have a very high sitting toilet, but not all models are affected.

Carthago comes with gel batteries, much better than the AGM Hymer provides. I'd replace either with LiFePO4, but not everyone will agree.

The water distribution works differently in Hymer and Carthago, see which one you prefer, they both have pros and cons.

Frankia did not impress us as much as the other two, their models are heavier and the dealer network is anorexic in our area.

Le Voyageur as a brand is well worth a look for build quality but they are as rare as hens teeth

Laika produce excellent build motorhomes. We’ve had ours for four years and used it a lot, yet it still looks new. We’ve done 27,000 miles.

What you need to do, is have a proper look at some of these motorhomes that are on your list. Oh and just to say, there isn’t a perfect motorhome out there. You always have to compromise in some way. This is due to limited space and weight issues.

We are on our third motorhome. Things that became important to us include:

Quality build -
Comfortable beds -
Comfortable seating -
A large garage -

At the end of the day people on here might be able to help narrow it down for you but there is only one person who can choose for YOU.

Good luck.

Not sure they will fit the year/budget though ;)

A second vote for Southdowns. We've also found their after sales service very good.

Thank you for your detailed reply. Much appreciated.
There is really no need to be sarcastic - totally unnecessary

- people on here try to help. you had mentioned a few brands but I simply thought that as a marque (Le Voyageur sits high up in the Pilote stable) it would be worth a look

Just out of curiosity. What part of my reply was sarcastic?
"Thank you for your detailed reply" when I mentioned the brand alone and nothing else. A smiley would have helped a great deal (y)

Oyes. Sorry about that that teoly was ment for vickysponge who left a detailed answer. And her "thanks for your reply" was ment for. Apologises I didn't mean to offend anyone. I have discarded the piloted as they are only 3500kg la voyageur lv7.5gjf could be a option. But I originally narrowed my search to four as I think you can look forever. Thanks Lee

Did you realise that Frankia and La Voyageur are from the Pilote stable?

I've been slowly narrowing down my search for what I think would be my perfect ! Motorhome. Here is my top 4. If anyone can offer any advise or even as one of the following for sale then please post.
1. Hymer b-class supreme line 674 or 704
2. Carthago c-line I 4.9 LE Superior
3. Frankia f-line I 740 good
Carthago every time never been happier in mine

Dethleffs Grand Alpa A 7820-2, really pleased with ours, and laika kreos 7012 A class before that and well satisfied with that also.
