Toying with the idea again of a change to a used slim Carthago. Needs to be 3.5T with reasonable payload ( lost C1- real bummer ) ;RHD; 9 speed auto; twin rear( for lounging ) and over cab beds; etc. Don’t think the Compactline138 would work for us , 143 too long and not yet seen a used 142 like Lenny’s( not that there will ever be one like his!). So have been wondering about the Malibu 441LE. Seems v similar to the 142. Any body got one and views etc. Thanks

We run a Malibu 441 LE, previous van Carthago C tourer 144 at 3850 kg, lost C1.
We carry very little in the garage, electric bikes left at home, Lithium battery, nothing in the underfloor storage, carry as little water as possible.
Fiat cartsprings on rear and horrible Michelin camper tyres even with lower tyre pressures give a really hard ride, lots of rattles, no comparison to the Carthago tourer but that had Alko chassis and van tyres.
Not the same build quality in my opinion but they look OK.

I can just about run my 138 at 3500KG with full tanks and two lightish e-bikes. Miner is a manual with no drop down bed either. Any of the longer ones seem unlikely to be able to keep under 3500Kg. unless you only travel with a toothbrush.
