Bought an e scooter yesterday, 2nd hand Xiaomi mi 365 to take in the van when abroad! Anyone else got one?
My feet are still playing up and I’m trying to get away so will experiment getting around on one in Europe, at 66 and a 1/4 not ready for a mobility scooter yet 😜

What the law is, what the public think the law is and what the public think of the law, and the law makers view of what the law should be are all over the place hence trials in various places as it avoids making a decision. Meanwhile people vote with their feet and just get on with riding them, why wouldn't you. Personally I do not like the privately owned ones, they always seem to be buzzing around people as if being on the pavement is legal and they also assume they have right of way in all circumstances. I also don't like the city trials that are taking place because there always seems to be a minor junk yard on every corner where users have dumped them when they have either finished with them or dumped them because the battery is flat, looks a mess (IMO).
Having said that, I wouldn't mind giving the scooter in the OP a go!
The majority of city trials for rental escooters seem to be going towards parking bays for them. Which should reduce clutter complaints. (Although many people seem to be blind to car pavement parking.)

Private escooters wouldn't be abandoned on the street anyway.

Here in Birmingham city centre, the escooters are great in some circumstances, but a liability elsewhere. There's lots of locations on the ring road where there's no cycle or shared paths. So scooters have got a choice of illegally dodging peds, or playing in multi lane traffic. Driving and meeting an escooter wobbling around a huge roundabout is not ideal! I'm not keen on doing it on my bike, and I'm far faster and more stable.

I have an e-bike which I don’t have to pedal but am thinking like you of getting a scooter as its smaller and lighter. I don’t rush around just slowly follow the wife and dog’s. mobility scooter is too large
I bought the same model several years ago when I was waiting for hip replacement, they are great for people with mobility problems. took it to France and it came in very useful. However the tyres and inner tubes were useless, had a puncture and couldn't get the tyre off to fix, took it to a bike shop, no use, took it to a very friendly Tyre and Exhaust place who managed to get if off but the inner tube was effectively made of tissue paper. On return to UK ordered some solid tyres which solved the problem.
