Scheduled to use a FT crossing lunch time tomorrow from Folkestone (paid an extra £20 to go before 4pm). Booking made about 7 weeks ago.

Yesterday, contacted ET to see if we could change to an earlier crossing, same day. Chap perfectly pleasant, very sorry sold out for earlier. I could see as much on the website, but thought I'd ask...

Anyway, the original FT account was purchased 2019, but ET super considerate to keep extending the original 12-month deadline to use. Now 31.12.22.

Try turning up early and see what is offered at that time or drive into the carpark and straight back out to passport control for an earlier crossing.

Interestingly, the nice man at ET suggested that. And given we've already paid to upgrade the ticket, I think there's a good chance.

Have found in the recent past that there has been no upgrade to a train before 4pm with the standard FT ticket, if not paid for an earlier crossing.

Anyway, not critical, but in the end decided to stay in Kent tonight, just 30 minutes from the tunnel. So will see what happens tomorrow...
