Any one at a loose end...

Decision made I will be arriving in the new Transit --No doubt I will forget to pack everything I need and I have no idea how long the battery will last but what's the worst that can happen ?I have plenty of gas but no grill so no toast -water tanks almost full -fridge is on -must remember to put dog food in and his bed lead etc so see you all around dinner time ish

Suddenly at a loose end, can anyone tell us is there any space left if we arrive tomorrow?

My apologies folks but we can't make it. Went to the van tonight to get ready for an early start tomorrow and we have discovered it has been broken into with the intention of stealing it. They've ripped the wiring out in an attempt to hot wire it and it's now completely immobile. I think they have been watching too much tele. Please put our deposit to good use, we don't want it back. (much like the motorhome)
Not looking for sympathy folks, just letting you know.

What à brilliant night wé had. Well done to those who made this meet happen x:thumb:

2nd, did.......... Those guy`s "Fungus & the Bogeyman" were as said superb... every one was in stitches.. :thumb::thumb:

All in all a fabulous long weekend... and it`s not over yet..

Lot of lobster pink sore body`s walking around...:BigGrin:

But as I have always said, yes the entertainment helps to make a good Rally/Meet... But it`s the people and quality of people that is the icing on the cake...

Great to meet so many new and old "Funsters and RVOC members...

Look forward to seeing some of you at at the Dorset Summer rally at "Corfe Castle... next weekend... them going on to Stratford have a great time and safe journey.. :thumb:

Home, safe and sound.

Thanks for the meet you organisers. You left the best 'till last, that meal was the best £10 ever spent.

Well Dally so sorry you did,nt make it to your very first rally with us, but judging by the amount of sympathy you got I doubt you will ever want to join us again, i thought you may have got a thank you for letting people know you could not attend and donating your deposit to good use, it seems only Carol and myself read your post, hope you get your van sorted,

Best of luck Eric

Only just read this, through reading Gloworms thread.. (That`s what happens when you just skim over posts)...

I don`t know if the organisers are aware of your generous offer... but will pass on, in case... I was the goffer for the "Funsters"... so really the blame rest`s with me... So please accept my apologies for not reading your thread and responding...

And I am sorry you missed the rally, and hope you get things sorted and it does not ruin any other outings planned this summer..

Big thanks

Well done the RVOC and Old Mo for a brilliant weekend of entertainment and topped off by an excellent meal. You will need a bigger car park next year!!
Thanks again,
Pauline & Mike.:thumb:

Hi Dally, sorry to hear of the attempt to steal your Motorhome. I hope all can be fixed quickly and at no great cost. I am sure that the R.V.O.C. Members along with the Funsters will thank you for your generosity in donating your deposit to the charity. I look forward to meeting you at a Funster meet in the not too distant future.

Brisey.

I'll second that. We have had a great time. Thanks to Sandra,Shirley and all others involved including Old Mo without whom we would not have known anything about it.
WE WILL BE BACK.

Rita and I would like third that, and concur fully with Malcolm's quote above.

We have had a smashing time, and it has been a great start to our 2014 holiday in the UK.

Many thanks to all (RVOC & FUN) concerned. BTW, can you put Jim & Sian at Stratford, onto the same weather source you used for Southport?

With respect, that's a little bit unfair Eric, as many of us here at Southport are really struggling to get a data signal, despite what looks like a phone mast being a only stone throw away. We have the latest 4G MiFi which is fast, but we are struggling at certain times of the day. Our neighbour Suggy, (Graham & Rosie) have a good 3G MiFi, but they can't get a data signal at all. Texts and calls are fine for all of us here, but data appears to be hit and miss, so many of us wouldn't have seen Dally's post.

Dally, sorry to hear about the rotten circumstances causing you to miss your first FUN meet/rally. We hope that you and yours are soon back on the road, :thumb: and that the thieving barstewards get their comeuppance even sooner.

Best regards,

Jock & Rita.

Thank you for your kind words folks. Mo, there really is no grounds for you to apologise to me, I should apologise to you for failing to be there after all your hard work.

Soon get the van sorted then it's history, looking for something similar disguised as a Lada so the low life will leave it alone.

Sounds like I missed a real treat at Southport as well but never mind, we are booked in to Malvern as a funster so we'll meet you all there.

Look for a 4 berth Lada. :thumb:

Great weekend

Thanks to Shirley, Sandra, Graham, Mike, Old Mo and everybody else for making a great weekend. Nice to meet some of the names on the forums as well as a few who rarely post. Its great to make new friends and swap ideas.
The entertainment, the go-karting, and the meal were all excellent and we can look forward to the swan racing next time

Hi Dally

Just read all these remarks and comments and would also like to add our names of the people that are saddened to hear of your run in with these total scrouts!
Truly hope it doesn't put you off, and I am a great believer in Karma so they will get what is coming to them "with knobs on"!

hope to see you on a rally soon

all the best
Andrea & Jeff

Sorry to hear of your bad luck Dally, but just to reinforce what has been said by a lot of people, we did our first meet with FUNSTERS this weekend at Southport, and it was FANTASTIC. Every one made us so welcome, and the organisation and entertainment and meal were SUPERB.
Looking forward to being around to do our next meet, and maybe meeting you in the flesh, so to speak.

Well here we are at "Briersfield, near Cheltenham for the night, before we go and relieve the "Chicken Sitters"... Back down in Devon..

Then hopefully (If we can get another Sitter) we will be off to Corfe Castle for the "Funsters Summer Meet".. :thumb:

I have taken it upon myself on behalf of the "Funsters" that went to the Southport rally.. to Thank Sandra & Chris and Shirl & Graham and Ernie & Denise..... for those that cannot access our sister site the RVOC ... I`m sure you dont mind...

We have spoken to the organisers and they have been asked by the site owners if we would like to do it again next year...

Any teething problems will have been sorted out... ie Proper Elsan dump and big green bins for waste...

As I understand,,, they have said yes... :thumb:

But what they intend to do is "Join" the Funsters side of the club so you will be able to liase with the organisers direct..

And any *ock up`s on my part should not happen...:Sad:

Rally`s like this do take a lot of organising,,,, so in the not to distant future they will be posting for next years "RVOC/Funsters, Southport Rally.. Keep an eye out if you dont want to miss this superb get together.. :thumb:

It was good to meet up with so many of our old friends and new.. :thanks2:

Me,Me,Me,Me..... I want to put my name down NOW!! Pretty please with sugar on:BigGrin:
Jeff and I enjoyed it all so much, even if we did both get beaten in the go-karts.
The Saturday evening entertainment was hilarious, and Sundays lunch was the icing on the cake. How they managed to lay on such an outstanding meal for £10 is unreal.
And Skye and Jess say thanks for all the fusses:thanks2:

Well home safe and sound and just going through a lot of crap emails and a few good ones  Sorry to hear of your attempt break in Dally and hope it has not caused too much damage ---Only my second meet but enjoyed meeting up again with funsters from my first meet and meeting / putting faces to even more names and also looking at some rather nice if big RVS :BigGrin:Thanks to the organizers Sandra and Shirl who made me feel welcome as soon as I entered the site and all the others whose names I will have forgot -No offense to anyone :thumb: but I will recognize peoples faces if not names so my apologizes now :BigGrin:A few names of the funsters (before I forget) that I put faces to where Old Mo,Geo,Smudger,Brian(hilldweller),Dave(Snowbird) and his RMB :thumb: yet another John and 2 Jims Ian,ken plus a good few others and a special thanks to Steve (Looking good- I think:Wink:)for dragging me a gas bottle to the meet :thumb:
The transit did everything I expected and worked well even if I did run out of water mid shower and all soaped up  only for me to find out the water cap keys were at home :BigGrin:-I found out that I need to lower the hanging rail (wardrobe)and that memory toppers slide off leather seats when you turn over in the night:BigGrin: so turning the seats bases over stopped this

What a fantastic meet at Southport, never been before but will definitely go on the next one, great venue, good walks for dogs and evening entertainment, especially Saturday night, the 2 comedians were absolutely brilliant.
Sunday lunch was good value for £10.
Many thanks to all who marshalled this rally, they take a lot of organising, good job well done.:thumb:
Roll on 2015
Oh and thanks for ordering the brilliant weather, makes all the difference.

Just to add Eddie & My thanks to everyone who organised the Southport meet, looking forward to next years already, a special thank you to Old Mo for the link and leasing with RVOC. :thanks:
