Any ideas where this goes?

Before putting a fuse in and connecting I would trace it from the fuse holder to see what it powers.
I've been trying to persuade him to do this. He knows its been chopped around and doesn't know for certain that it actually worked as it was left. Please proceed with caution Taff015 im very concerned that you are in the zone for doing costly damage.

I would suspect that it could be the +ve starter battery connection to the CBE box of tricks in the side locker Taff015 do you get a G generator signal on the control panel when the engine is running? or is the panel still not playing the game?

The lid looks like this,

Nah its still buggered although everything came on for the 2 days prior to getting the battery changed..... I suspect that this cable is indeed what you suggest.

Even the front panel lit up and i was getting full access to all the lights and the water pump. I will try and trace the cable but its highly likely that its the B1 cable as that's the only brown one I have on the posts under the seat

My next plan is to isolate the water pump with a separate battery and switch!!!!

Oh I will. If needs be ill take each wire off the post at the fuse box and do a continuity check with a really long cable!

Well if you think its that brown B1 it should show starter battery volts but won't if the fuse is blown, if you want to be sure just check for continuity end to end.
