Since 2005! 2000+ nights so far...
My seafrance carnet has run out (all tickets used :)) so I need to sort out another way to get to France.

I like the carnet flexibility - but are there any bargains/offers at the moment?

3x return crossings with SF are £64 each and fully flexible which appears unbeatable. On SF the 1st return fixed crossing is £63 and P&O £100.

Just checking before giving them a call again :)

Cheers in advance

Hi,

check with SF about mhome lengths on the carnet. I think they now charge an extra £15 or £20 per metre above 5.5m !!

Alan

There is a premimum yeah - but I'm only 4.8m :) (+ bikes/box - still under 5.5 :))

I was doing the same.
I rang Sea France and they said that the suppliment was £12.50
P and O said that the suppliment was £13.50.
Eurostar wanted £20.

Season Ticket
Sea France £32
P and O £27
Eurostar £39.

Thanks for that. I never found those before.

Ah

P&O you need 9 returns rather than seafrance 3. No way we'll have 9 returns in 12 months  Link Removed

Euro tunnel are 5x returns as well - and only off peak times  Frequent Travellers

So still seafrance for me so far... Thanks though

Hi its not 9 return, its 9 singles.

On P&O? Do you have any details of that? 9 is a weird number as you'd be stuck over there!

The P&O page (linked above) says:

Hi,We are backwards and forwards all the time and I cant beat Norfolkline for price.Even in August they are still cheep.I know its further north than Calais but the savings outway the other prices. For best price you have to travel at unsocial hours but they always alow you on an earlier boat if you turn up a few hours early.Regards,Dave.:thumb:

NL come up at £96 with 4am and 6am crossings!!! I'm over 2.4m high (2.8m) which causes this - under 2.4m comes up with £42 for naff times or £55-60 for good times.

Maybe their boats are lower :) They also don't question length...

Ah well - looks like all options exhausted and stick with Sea france for another year

Thanks anyway folks!

that is very good. :thumb: I can get that for Seafrance - but only coz I'm short and not towing.

Guess you are a short arse then under 2.4m!

The caravan club are doing special offers from £37 car and caravan up to 12 mtrs £37 each way motorhomes up to 8metres from £27 each way with norfolkline Alan:thumb:

We have just renewed our Sea France carnet even though we are paying the supplyment for a 7.3m van. It works out around £114 for a return crossing but it was still cheaper than most other prices. The flexibility is good with just a phone call to change the ferry time with no penalty.

Have just booked with P&O £119.50 return am 10 metres long 4 metres high for the beginning Sept and not stupid times either, could have got Norfolk lines cheaper by £20 but it will cost me that on extra fuel as i will be driving back past Calais also if you arrive early or late with P&O they have never ripped me off if there is room on a ferry unlike Norfolk Lines who advertise the fact that you can change the dates of bookings at no charge then promptly try to do exactly that a £78.00 return deal obtained at the NEC show turned in to a £138.00 return after they had finished with me us old Suffolk Boys never get stuffed twice by the same person so i am sticking with P& O for the moment.

We got our van 7.24 m the Wed tea time before Aug bank hols for £98 and return teatime 10 days later, via caravan club website - what bumps it up is the ridiculous £30 for the dog, who has to stay in the van and I scan him at check in. Rip off or what?:Eeek:
