I agree, RVs are double glazed so those particular generator owners don't appreciate the noise their 5.5kva beast is generating 36 foot behind their 72 inch telly:BigGrin:

And let's not forget, you are the head of a geriatric forum not known for good hearing.

RV + deaf, what a combination.

Then some don't have the best eyesight.

RV + deaf + blind, I don't want to be there.

Sorry my original post went wrong

Lets face it RVs are quite "loud" :Rofl1:. Ill get me coat

This is what a RV is to me:thumb:

RV goofy - YouTube

Bloody hell the morroco french mob are on fun
We witnessed one french loony move his van at least 5 times to get his sat dish to lock on and when he could not he proceed to chop half a palm tree down when that failed he pulled of site never to be seen again all to the amusement of suggy canopus and my self
I am sure if ken reads this he will post a much more eloquent reply :thumb:

Interesting - have never been bothered by gennies until now. But whilst reading this thread a mobile car cleaner has arrived next door and fired his up. Ye gods, it's a noisy beast! Even through domestic double glazing at 10 metres it gets on my nerves. Presumably a 'builder's genny' - if that was running next me for any length of time there'd be sugar in the tank...

i have a builders genny should i bring that instead of me kipor i could also run a few other vans with it we wont hear the noise as we will be partying :Rofl1:

This thread seems to have touched a few raw nerves.

Personally, if I was being bothered by gennys running all day and parties all night I would just move, which may be a bit difficult on a rally but the answer to that would be not to have gone to a rally where these things were likely to happen.

So it looks as if I won't ever be going to a Funsters' rally!

Noooooo....Funster rallies aren't at all like that!

They are just great fun and anyone who wants to move can do just that.

Keep the banter about the gennys going, no mention of the smokey chiminea
Im in the clear

That is a logical conclusion.

Also, people die in motorhome accidents, therefore if you do not want to die in a motorhome you had better abandon that.

No, I am much safer in the MH than on my push bike!

It's not the volume, it's the [HI]drone, Drone, DRONE. Going on forever. Drone, Drone, DRONE.[/HI]

If you carry an axe that is a good solution, just choose the owner or the generator.

?
OK So Carol Snores but she's the Marshall:Rofl1:
Don't the security people at Chester run generators most of the night?
[HI]
Yup I was pitched next to it. but you sleep ok most of the time:Wink:[/HI]

OMG :Eeek: what a distorted array of comments to what a Fun Rally is actually like, they are not about noisy genies these things are sorted out by Jim, or rally officers it is the camereradery amongst funsters along with the singing / banter / laughter / that makes fun something special, which is reflected in the numbers attending Fun meets.

Don't judge by what you read come along and make your own mind up, but if you really are a grumpy old Man/Women then perhaps a Fun meet would not be your cup of tea.

Very sensible words - though I do think that a lot of the posts were meant to be ironic (mine were merely moronic) and taken in good humour :thumb:

One of the first rules on the list issued by Camperfest the organisers of the site at Chester was 'NO GENERATORS'

That should have avoided all of this!!

RV hater, then? :reel:

We went to Chester, it was fun, it was noisy (in many ways) it was sunny, hipee.

We made some new friends and met up with some old. Hooray :Rofl1:

We drank too much gin, we ate too much grub. Groan.

We moved the van. Whatever

I have a sunny nature, I like to laugh and have fun, I'm not a moaner or grumpy but I defy anyone to put up with a genny that's as loud as a tractor outside their van. Oh wait nobody did we all moved.
The owner was wearing ear defenders to start it up Oh Please!

Let's try and keep a bit of perspective, in the scheme of life it's no big deal. (It just kinda felt that way by day 3:Rofl1:).

Sending love hugs and kisses to you all. Xxx

Wow, some people like Generators some don't

Some people like parties, some don't

Some people Like Ukes some don't

Some people like Swifts, some don't

Some people eat meat some don't

Some people loathe dogs, some don't

Some people loathe kids some don't

Boy thank god for all of that....

Be terrible to think that we were all the same, In fact, life would be rather boring if you ask me.

All I know is that I'm glad I went to Chester :thumb:

whatever the deal was its made good reading just look at the pages donated to a genny rant :Rofl1::Rofl1:

I quite enjoy going to parties, try to play the guitar, actually own a Swift, eat plenty of meat, like intelligent dogs and love my 6 grandchildren so where does that leave me? :Rofl1:
